A beam of light illuminated the room.
At the same time, rays of light shone on the three members of the team. This was the sign of an upgrade. Despite their limited contribution to the battle, as part of the team in this level 12 secret realm dungeon, they earned a substantial amount of experience points.
After all, the effects of Crow's incarnation of fear and Meimei's dream connection had proven useful.
Ian, though, had mysteriously broken free from Vale's mental control, allowing the Hell Messenger to lose his grip.
Thus, their experience gains were well-deserved.
Novak, however, paid no mind to the leveling notifications. The Cosmic Will jolted the three of them back to reality as they looked at the defeated and humiliated corpse of the dungeon boss. For a creature of this magnitude, his death was nearly unfathomable.
Though they wanted to ask Novak about it, they were too embarrassed to inquire further. An evolutionary's talents and skills are their trump cards, not something to reveal lightly.
Still, wasn't Novak's finishing move just a bit too overpowered?
They still remembered the last skill he used that could continuously restore his state.
"What are you guys standing around for? After this video gets released, you should really think about your codenames. You don't want to be stuck with just your evolutionary numbers, right?"
His words snapped the three of them back to attention.
Appearing in a video guide meant they'd be watched by countless evolutionaries, especially those in secret realms at the nightmare level and beyond.
It is now the second global achievement in the world!
Naturally, they will never forget such an honor!
"That's it for now. Let's go with the team name we mentioned earlier in the chat. Those other team names were ridiculous. We'll stick with '001 Group,' '001 Team,' or simply use '001' as a prefix."
"Sounds good!"
"Let's do it!"
"Ok!"
Novak nodded, then finalized the choice based on the Cosmic Will.
Moments later, a notification flashed across all evolutionary interfaces:

But why did their codenames now include "001"? What did it signify?
Some were confused, but others quickly understood the meaning behind it, especially those who had seen the special forum posts before the apocalypse began.
It dawned on them that this team, having cleared yet another nightmare-level Secret Realm, was composed of those who had awakened early, even before the end of the world.
As soon as the news broke, the forums exploded once more.
Interestingly, it wasn't the evolutionaries of Faeloria Country who stirred up the most conversation—it was those from other nations!

It had been a week since the apocalypse began, and copper coins were still scarce among many evolutionaries, but not as scarce as they once were.
Previously, it had been just Novak. Now, with the entire team clearing a level 12 dungeon, they were drawing even more attention. At just 5 copper coins, the viewing fee was a steal.
Amidst the chatter, all eyes turned to this newly cleared nightmare-level dungeon.
Meanwhile, Novak and his team stood before the corpse.
Typically, when a Secret Realm is cleared for the first time, the drop rate increases dramatically.
However, Novak hadn't expected this boss to be so overwhelmingly generous.
What a 'Big Bang'!
Whether it was due to Meimei's presence or her adjustment of the drop rate, Novak wasn't sure. What he knew for certain was that compared to this Devil Vale, the fabled Plague Rat King looked like nothing more than a sewer rat.
Though, to be fair, the Rat King had always been notoriously stingy.
Among the flickering lights, Novak spotted not one but two scroll-shaped items lying on the ground.
He exhaled softly, but didn't rush to grab the items. Instead, he glanced at Ian.
"Pick everything up. We'll divide it later. I'm going to take advantage of this while I can."
Ian, seemingly realizing something, hurriedly gathered the items in his arms. Meanwhile, the other two watched Novak in silent terror.
Sure enough, the black and red tendrils appeared once more from Novak's palm.
The tendrils, like living tentacles, wrapped themselves around the corpses before them.
'Devour!'
The black and red mass pulsed, like the stomach of a giant creature, digesting and absorbing its prey.
Even Crow and Ian felt a chill run down their spines as they watched this grotesque scene unfold.
As for Meimei, instead of feeling disgusted, she was intrigued.
Clearly, those who awaken SSS talents are not ordinary people.
Or rather, they aren't 'normal' people.
Novak, however, had no time to worry about their reactions.
During the engulfing process, a special notification appeared—something he had never seen before:
