Selene Valor, a pureblood vampire,  entered a marriage of convenience with her husband Gabriel Valor to protect herself from relatives eyeing what was left of her family's wealth. Xavier did not believe she would kiss him so early on. He was patient since he knew it would take some time for Selene to warm up to it, yet she was ready to kiss him for one of his secrets.

Had he known she would one day accept the deal, Xavier would have made it pricier. It should be two kisses for a secret instead of one. It felt like he was losing here.

Still, Xavier welcomed her to get what she wanted. He did not get up from his chair since his lap was the perfect seat for Selene to use.

Selene now questioned whether she should kiss him. His shock was replaced with enjoyment since he was finally getting what he wanted. She cursed herself for being too curious about his talents.
