"Again Cassandra? You're a married woman now so you can't be running around with men who are not your husband. What is it now?" Bryce asked, looking ahead at the woman who claimed his bed again.

Cassandra covered her face with her hand. "The beds in the church always feel the best. I hate being there with him more than ever. He speaks of a child and turning me into his kind. I don't know how long I can stop him."

"Well, the child we can get rid of but if you turn, I don't know how well the others will accept you. Why don't you keep distracting him? Isn't your body how you got him-"

"I got him by all of you throwing me in his path and having me do everything he wanted to find my way back here. You did all of that and he is not a man with a good place in the palace. He couldn't get the king to come to our wedding. Wasn't the point of all of this to reach the king?" Cassandra asked.
