Jasper dusted off his clothes. "I didn't mean to disturb you. I was only following what my master wanted. He would not like to know the others have attacked you or your wife. I should be thanked for taking care of the other one following you. Nasty little fellow."

"The other shifter. I know that one to serve the king's family. Well, he wasn't following you. It was your wife," Jasper said since Xavier wasn't around that time. "She's got someone following her when she's out of your estate. I wanted to know why so I could pass it on to the master."

Xavier wasn't surprised to hear Darius would go so far. Between Vivienne and Darius, Xavier would place his money on Darius to be the one behind this.

"Like my wife said, you might be of some use to us," Xavier said, now seeing why Jasper was kept around.
