As a result of Georgio's new position as the Guildmaster of the Assassin Guild, the previously neutral organization became a de facto subordinate faction of the Di Malvento family, since Georgio was one of Rocco's closest aides.
However, structurally, the guild was no longer a guild in name or function.
Officially, the remaining members of the guild were absorbed into the Di Malvento family, forming a newly created the "Assassins Squad" directly under their command, with Georgio as its leader.
Fortunately—or perhaps unfortunately, depending on one's perspective—the guild members didn't seem to hold any personal attachment to their late Guildmaster.
No one opposed the idea of Georgio taking the reins.
Assassins, it seemed, were accustomed to forming detached, pragmatic relationships.
Revenge or lingering sentiment wasn't part of their nature.
They simply followed the strong.
