After storming out of Laurent's house, Dave drove straight back to Burg Eltz. The night was deep, and since he drove at high speed the whole way, it didn't take long for him to get back to Burg Eltz.
As soon as he arrived, he called Morrison out for a drink.
While he was angry, he also felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
This feeling of unease reminded him of the time when he realized that Clark had no allure for him at all. After Morrison had tried to set him up with a bunch of women, Dave had fled in a panic.
The reason for his unease now was that he realized he couldn't seem to get away from Laurent.
He had always thought their relationship was like it had been at the beginning, with him in control of everything.
If he wanted her to be happy, he would make her happy; if he wanted her to suffer, he would make her suffer.
But now he realized that the one leading this relationship was no longer him.
