Chapter 187- captivating

Dave was waiting—waiting for her to forget all the things he had done wrong, even waiting for her to forget him, Dave, entirely.

He hoped that she would erase all memories of the coldness and hurt he had once inflicted on her.

Then, he would reappear in her life in a new light, allowing her to see only the best of him—to feel only his kindness, his warmth.

Morrison said he was being stubborn, refusing to see the truth.

Was he?

He wasn't sure.

Before everything fell apart between them, he had never realized that he was capable of this—of loving someone to this extent.

He had always believed that he didn't love her.

But the longer they were apart, the clearer it became. Some love had already seeped into his bones, woven into the fabric of everyday life, too deep to ignore.

No one is incapable of living without another person. He could live without her.
