Faced with Bert's provocation and aggressive stance, Dave remained calm and unhurried.
"This doesn't seem quite fair. If you insist on getting Washington Co., shouldn't half of it belong to me? After all, I'm also Dad's child, and part of it should go to Lilian as well, since she's Dad's daughter. Or maybe we should hire a lawyer and properly divide it according to inheritance law."
Dave's words caught Bert off guard, causing him to become somewhat irritated.
"Dave, do you really think you still have the right to bargain with me?" Bert threatened.
Dave instantly understood the threat behind Bert's words. He hadn't forgotten that his mother and daughter were still in Bert's hands.
"Okay, I don't have the right to bargain with you. But right now, I'd like to hear the voices of my mother and my daughter. I need to make sure they're both safe before I even consider agreeing to your conditions."
On the other end, Bert chuckled.
