Wooden, after all, was getting older. Overnight, such a big event happened at Burg Eltz—people went missing, and Washington County was about to undergo a change of leadership. It had taken a lot of the lord's attention, leaving him utterly exhausted.
Dave reminded the lord's personal butler to take good care of the lord, then left with Laurent.
As soon as they got into the car, Bert's phone rang again.
Without any hesitation, Dave responded to Bert.
"I agree to all your terms. Come to Washington County at 2 PM, and we'll sign the documents."
Dave's tone was firm.
"Of course, the condition is that my mother and my daughter are both safe and sound."
Bert chuckled on the other end of the line.
"You agreed so quickly. I'm a little unaccustomed to it. Are you trying to pull off some kind of trick on me?"
