Chapter 43: New Horizon

The moon was high in the sky as Kaylen with his striking blue eyes and white hair flowing in the wind, stood on the balcony of the Regalia Castle.

Dressed in a long white robe, he gazed into the distance.

The night breeze carried the scent of victory mingled with the faint aroma of ashes left behind by recent battles.

"You can come out," he murmured calmly.

From the shadows emerged Katran, clad in his raven-mask attire, his sword resting on his back. He knelt before Kaylen.

"Mission accomplished, Lord Kaylen . Katran announced. All remaining leaders of the Ouroboros organization have been eliminated. Their various hideouts have been burned to the ground. The entire organization consisting of 150 members, has been eradicated."

Kaylen nodded slowly, his gaze fixed on the horizon.

"Good. You may leave."

Without another word, Katran vanished into the darkness like a shadow returning to the night.

Kaylen walked through the silent corridors of the castle, his boots faintly echoing against the marble floors.

He reached a door and knocked gently before entering. Inside, Jonady was seated at his desk a document in hand.

The monarch looked up noticing Kaylen standing before him, one arm resting on the table.

"So?" Jonady asked bluntly.

"The parasites have been neutralized," Kaylen replied firmly.

Jonady nodded, his serious expression betraying a mix of satisfaction and contemplation.

"It's good that this problem has finally been resolved."

Kaylen nodded.

"I knew part of the nobility was corrupt, but Ouroboros surpassed all imagination.

Their influence extended far beyond what we could have anticipated."

Jonady thoughtful didn't immediately respond.

He reflected on the complexities of power structures.

Ouroboros with its methods, reminded him of a mafia organization its power and influence akin to realities from his world of origin.

There, too, criminal syndicates would form when nations went through periods of turmoil. Crime rings thrived on crises, exploiting the vulnerable to amass wealth.

He murmured to himself:

"No matter the world, those in power will always try to abuse it."

Kaylen hearing these words remained silent, respecting the musings of his monarch.

An Unexpected Interruption .

The moment of reflection was abruptly interrupted by the arrival of Raelia, who opened the door without warning.

"Jonady, come rest. You're spending too much time cooped up in here," she said, her tone both commanding and concerned.

Jonady tried to protest, but she gave him no choice. She grabbed his arm and led him out of the office.

Kaylen still present observed the scene with an amused smile, letting out a quiet chuckle.

"Even the greatest monarchs must sometimes obey, to his woman " he murmured to himself as he exited the room.

In Raelia's quarters Jonady found himself lying on her bed, his head resting on the princess's lap.

The exhaustion of the past few days weighed heavily on his shoulders, but the calm of the moment brought him solace.

Raelia ran a hand through his hair, murmuring softly:

"You really need to stop worrying me so much, you fool."

Jonady, his eyes half-closed, let out a faint laugh, recalling a well-known saying from his world: "Happy wife, happy life."

Raelia placed a tender kiss on his forehead before watching him drift into a peaceful sleep.

The following morning, at sunrise, the royal palace issued an official announcement to all the inhabitants of the island.

In the streets of Amiria town criers proclaimed:

By order of the new Monarch Jonady Kaya and the royal family the Ouroboros organization composed of corrupt figures, has been eradicated.

Evidence of their crimes, including corruption and criminal activity has been revealed.

Justice has triumphed and no one regardless of their status, will be above the kingdom's laws.

The news caused a stir the sudden revelations shocked the people but also brought a sense of relief.

The disclosure of some nobles' involvement in such heinous crimes deeply disturbed the population, but the crown's firm response strengthened their faith in the royal family.

One message resonated clearly: regardless of rank, the kingdom's laws applied to everyone.

No one was above the law.

A new age will emergerge for the kingdom of Ednia.

At the top of the palace Jonady observed the city from a balcony.

Beside him Raelia and Gilbert shared this moment of calm after the storm.

Gilbert, ever pragmatic, declared:

"This victory is significant, but it's only the beginning.

The aftermath of Ouroboros's actions will be felt for a long time. We must remain vigilant."

Jonady, his hands clasped behind his back, replied in a firm tone:

"I know. But this victory shows to the people that we are determined to protect Ednia's future, no matter the cost will be ."

Raelia placed a hand on his shoulder.

"And as long as we stand united no threat can destroy us."

Jonady nodded.

The morning breeze gently swept through, carrying away the last remnants of the night.

A new horizon lay ahead for the kingdom of Ednia marked by unwavering justice and unyielding determination.
