Chapter 68: Crossing the Sea

At the bustling port of the island kingdom of Ednia, preparations were in full swing.

Men were loading vast quantities of military supplies, destined for the upcoming conflict on the continent of Alderia while large ships swayed gently under the weight of provisions.

My gaze swept over the scene before landing on a woman wearing a long white coat.

I recognized her immediately it was Sienna, engaged in conversation with Kaylen nearby. Curiosity piqued, I approached to overhear their discussion.

"Sienna, there's no way you're coming" Kaylen said firmly his tone tinged with concern.

 "It's too dangerous."

Sienna, dressed in her scientist's attire a fitted coat adorned with a belt of vials and tools

pouted slightly.

Her long hazel hair cascaded down to her legs, and an elegant fringe swept across the right side of her face, framing her captivating violet eyes.

Her glasses added to her studious appearance.

When Sienna noticed my presence behind Kaylen, she smiled warmly.

 "Oh, good morning, Your Majesty."

Kaylen sighed, as though already anticipating my response.

"Let her come, Kaylen," I said in a calm tone.

"She won't be involved in the fighting anyway."

Kaylen frowned but eventually relented.

"Fine. But Sienna, under no circumstances are you to put yourself in danger is that clear?"

Sienna chuckled softly, closing her eyes as she draped an arm around Kaylen, clearly amused by his seriousness.

"Don't worry" she replied. "After all, you'll be there to protect me."

Kaylen looked away visibly flustered, while Sienna laughed lightly.

Once the preparations were complete, we boarded a fleet of eleven ships, carrying an impressive army of 110,000 soldiers.

As the vessel cut through the violet waters of this otherworldly realm, I found myself deep in thought.

Two months had passed since my arrival in this world.

Every moment here seemed more intense than in the world I had left behind.

Unlike the blue seas of my past, these waters were a mysterious shade of violet shimmering under the foreign sky.

In my cabin I lay down on a rudimentary bed, a copy of The Encyclopedia of Races in my hands.

It detailed the many creatures of this world my eyes fell on a section about werewolves.

Werewolves (Werwolfs)

Werewolves are mythical creatures capable of shifting between human form and either a wolf-like or hybrid form.

Hybrid Form: They are imposing figures, often standing between 2 to 3 meters tall, with massive musculature. Their faces are a blend of human and lupine features, marked by elongated snouts, sharp fangs, and glowing eyes, often red or gold.

Wolf Form: Resembling enormous wolves, they far surpass ordinary wolves in both size and strength.

Human Form: In this form, they retain subtle but distinct traits, such as slightly elongated canines or piercing eyes.

Primary Abilities:

Strength and Resilience: Their strength far exceeds that of humans, and their rapid regeneration makes them nearly invincible.Enhanced Senses: Their sense of smell, hearing, and night vision are highly developed.Speed and Agility: Their swiftness and flexibility make them formidable opponents.

Weaknesses:

Silver: One of the few materials capable of inflicting severe harm upon them.

Full Moon: While some can control their transformations, the full moon may trigger erratic behavior.

I noticed that the encyclopedia seemed incomplete.

It was clear that Ednia isolated on its island, was still ignorant of many aspects of the world's races.

At dawn, we arrived at the shores of the Grand Confederation of Azulferia.

Once on land, a group of guards awaited us.

They were a diverse lot, comprising elves with refined features and sturdy goblins.

An elf in a red cape, his hair neatly groomed and wearing brown leather boots, stepped forward.

"Welcome delegation from the Kingdom of Ednia," he said courteously Sir Katran has informed us of your arrival.I am Ulsak and I have been tasked with guiding you to Lady Thaloria, who awaits you at Castle Elsihore."

I thanked him with a nod the air was tense.

We followed Ulsak through a landscape scarred by war—fields reduced to wasteland, villages left in ruins.

Yet amidst the devastation, hope persisted.

A new battle was brewing, and this time, it would mark Ednia's first conflict on the continent.

It was a fight to preserve the sovereignty of a nation.

But there was no doubt the balance of power on the Alderia continent was on the verge of entering a new era.
