Chapter 86: Boozer vs. Thaloria

Thaloria, seated on Sleipnir, charged forward with determination.

As she approached Boozer, she leaped from her mount allowing the massive creature to lunge at the demon.

The Sleipnir let out a powerful cry:

"WIIIIII!"

Caught off guard, Boozer took a defensive stance.

The beast's hooves tried to crush him under its weight.

His arachnid legs trembled from the strain of maintaining his balance.

I didn't expect a mount to be used like this… but even with my legs.

I'll end up crushed if I stay here too long Boozer thought, aware of the danger.

Thaloria seized the opportunity.

She fired three luminous arrows, each targeting one of Boozer's spider-like legs.

The arrows struck with surgical precision, severing three of his appendages.

Boozer gritted his teeth, resisting the urge to scream.

This woman… she fights with intelligence, he mused.

Two of his remaining legs touched the ground.

"Spider Surface," he murmured.

Once again, the terrain shifted transforming into a sticky, slippery web that began to immobilize Sleipnir.

Boozer didn't stop there.

With his massive gorilla-like hands, he channeled a dark violet energy and unleashed:

"Poison Drain."

The venom seeped into Sleipnir's body, weakening the beast with every passing second.

Meanwhile, Thaloria had rushed to Lanny's unconscious body.

Placing a hand on his neck, she searched for a pulse.

"He's breathing… he's just unconscious," she murmured in relief.

She closed her eyes and chanted a spell:

"Sarthein."

A soft white energy flowed from her hands into Lanny's body.

Slowly, his bruises and wounds began to fade.

On the other side, Boozer continued to handle Sleipnir.

The poisoned mount, though weakened, displayed remarkable tenacity.

Its red eyes burned with fury, and its teeth grew long and razor-sharp.

With raw strength, it clamped down on one of Boozer's spider legs and ripped it off with its jaws, causing the demon to let out a howl of pain.

"HAAAAA!"

Sleipnir's gaze, filled with unrelenting rage, seemed to pierce Boozer's soul.

However, the demon was not one to be easily intimidated.

"Stupid beast… Even as I drain your energy and poison you, you refuse to let me go?

Very well. I'll tear you in half to silence you!"

The two monsters clashed ferociously.

 Boozer gained the upper hand.

With a monstrous roar, he seized Sleipnir's jaws and pried them apart with all his might. The beast let out one final cry before collapsing, lifeless.

Wiping the blood from his wounds, Boozer turned his gaze to Thaloria.

"Your mount is dead. You don't seem affected… no matter you are a strong woman, Thaloria. "

"The strongest I've met since Lady Ilphyna. One last time, I will ask you join the Katakiel Empire."

Thaloria advanced calmly, her gaze locked onto him. Boozer chuckled.

"Hahaha… At least I tried what a shame if I had met you sooner I would have taken you as my subordinate."

Thaloria closed her eyes and murmured:

"You are the manifestation of my power,my will is unshakable.I protect those who must be protected. Appear, Elfinim."

Her elven bow transformed into a silver sword engraved with runes.

A radiant aura enveloped her body, and Boozer felt a threat unlike anything he had ever encountered before.

"I'll have to take this seriously…" he growled.

He slammed his hands onto the ground and unleashed:

"Web Domain!"

The entire battlefield transformed into a gigantic, slippery spiderweb.

The surrounding buildings sank into the cursed surface.

But Thaloria vanished.

Boozer confused, turned his head.

"Where did she go?!" he roared.

A calm voice echoed behind him:

"Sorry, I had to put Lanny somewhere safe but… you're already dead Boozer."

Before he could react, Thaloria sliced off his left arm with a precise strike.

The severed limb fell to the ground.

She then whispered:

"Detonation."

She quickly vanished once more, leaving several dark symbols to appear on Boozer's body.

The runes glowed with an intense green light, forming a barrier of destructive energy.

In an instant, a colossal explosion shook the battlefield.

On the other side of the web wall, Zotoun and Gaynor were fighting off the demons. Exhausted, they struggled to hold their ground.

"I'm going to use my spell," declared Poltyx, the tiny fairy.

"N… no, Poltyx, if you use it—" Gaynor tried to protest.

But their words were cut off by a deafening detonation.

"BOOOOOOM!"

The spiderweb wall collapsed, and the demons melted away, each bearing an arrow on their foreheads, surrounded by yellow energy.

A silhouette emerged from the flames and smoke—it was Thaloria.

Holding her bow, she declared firmly:

"It seems I haven't lost my archery skills… even if I don't practice as much as Sylenna Silvershot."

The elven soldiers rushed toward her, cheering for their commander.

"Lady Thaloria!" they shouted in admiration.

Niniel, with tears in her eyes, ran toward Lanny's unconscious body.

"Don't worry," Thaloria said, patting her shoulder. "He's just unconscious."

Then, turning to her soldiers:

"Do not lower your guard the enemy is still in Iselehein stay vigilant!"

They responded in unison:

"YES, MA'AM!"
