Kaylen stood in a guarded stance, his eyes fixed on the column of deep violet energy, tinged with pink hues, that surrounded Niolz.
The atmosphere was oppressive, charged with a power unlike anything he had ever faced.
"What… is this?" he murmured.
Suddenly, the energy dispersed in a shockwave, revealing a humanoid figure.
Niolz had completely transformed.
A white horn adorned his forehead, long pointed ears protruded from each side of his head.
And his once yellow eyes had turned crimson, their black pupils seeming to pierce into the soul.
His skin was now darker, and the arm Kaylen had severed had regenerated, now adorned with long, razor-sharp claws.
A serpentine tail, glowing with a sinister light, coiled behind him.
Kaylen's eyes widened. "What is this form… and this energy?"
Niolz flashed a feral grin:"Hahaha! You should see your face, White Tiger! You're probably wondering what this form is. It's called the Quorceron—a transformation, the ultimate stage of power. Only the elite among demons can use this technique. Even among the noble families, very few have reached this exceptional level. The last time I used my true form… was against my dear sister Iphyna."
He raised his hand and snapped his fingers. Instantly, several violet energy spheres formed around Kaylen, floating silently.
"Explode!"
A series of violent explosions erupted, shaking the ground and leaving a massive crater.
As the smoke cleared, Kaylen stood tall, bruised and bleeding but still alive.
He gripped his saber tightly and whispered, .
"Torment of Thunder: Lightning Pillar!"
A towering column of lightning surged from the ground, striking Niolz with devastating force.
But with a flick of his tail, Niolz effortlessly dispersed the attack, his expression calm. Extending his right palm, he conjured a black flame orb.
"Let's see how long you can last, human."
The fireball expanded to a meter in diameter, then shot forward at blinding speed.
Kaylen had no choice but to block it with his saber.
The impact sent him hurtling backward, making him cough up blood. His white coat was torn apart by the sheer heat of the attack.
Gasping for air, Kaylen muttered to himself, .
"Stay focused… You can't afford to die here."
A vision of Sienna flashed in his mind—her determined eyes, her hopeful words.
Despite the pain, a smile crossed his face.
"I won't let you down."
Niolz, amused, conjured a trident of black energy in his hands.
"Let's finish this, Kaylen the White Tiger."
Both warriors rushed forward, their weapons clashing with earth-shattering force.
Each strike sent shockwaves through the battlefield.
Blood and exhaustion marked their bodies as they continued to push each other to the limit.
Kaylen took a small step back, raising his saber above his head.
"Tiger's Claws!"
A wave of white energy, shaped like giant claws, slashed toward Niolz.
The demonic prince ecstatic, burst into laughter.
"Yes! That's it! Show me everything you have, Kaylen the White Tiger!"
In response, he unleashed a devastating counterattack.
"Destructive Will-o'-the-Wisp Spears!"
Flames of violet and black erupted, colliding head-on with Kaylen's white energy claws.
BOOOOM!
A series of massive explosions tore through the battlefield. Smoke obscured the air, but amidst the chaos, Kaylen leaped, his blade shining with divine radiance.
Niolz, raising his trident, roared, "Die, White Tiger!"
"Shattering Trident Strike!"
His weapon became shrouded in dark energy, creating a deadly arc aimed directly at Kaylen.
But Kaylen pushed forward with everything he had left.
"White Tiger's Severing Blade!"
His saber became enveloped in a blazing white aura, taking the form of a roaring tiger.
The attack was so fast and precise that it split the air itself.
Their ultimate attacks collided in a blinding explosion, illuminating the battlefield.
When the light faded, both warriors collapsed.
Kaylen, on his knees, struggled to breathe, his trembling hand still gripping his saber.
Niolz, lying in a pool of blood, had lost his tail and bore a gaping wound across his torso.
Yet, even in his final moments, he was smiling.
With his last breath, he whispered, "Glory… to Katakiel…"
His eyes dimmed, and his body fell still.
Kaylen lifted his gaze toward the sky, his body battered and broken.
Looking down at his blood-stained sword, a faint smile crossed his face.
"It seems… I'm still alive… Thanks to you, Sienna."
