Planning plumbing

Suddenly, a flood of information washed over his mind, creating diagrams and blueprints that became embedded so deep into his memory that he felt as if he knew those blueprints like the back of his hand.

With the supplemental knowledge given by ChatJK1 of how plumbing worked, Michael understood perfectly how to construct the faucet by himself.

"Yes!!!!"

"Did you say something, young master?" Beretta had entered just in time to catch Michael practically dancing up and down in joy.

"Oh… it's nothing."

Michael tried to hold in his excitement. However, the prospect of building his own running water source made him extremely happy. With that, he would be one step closer to his ideal life of comfortability.

"Fufufu… so the young master is already at that age, huh?"

"Huh?"

"Oh, it's nothing. I'll leave you to enjoy your bath, young master."

Beretta poured the bucket of water, but it barely filled the bathtub. She would need a few more trips to the well to completely fill it up.

As she turned to leave, she winced slightly, a sharp pain flaring in her back. She didn't show it to the young master and continued to act as if she was fine.

"I've prepared your clothes in your room, young master."

"Okay, thank you." Michael sank into the water, already planning how he was going to create his faucet.

Meanwhile, Beretta finally left the room. The moment the door shut behind, her mask slipped, and exhaustion crept onto her face.

One of the maids approached her and asked, "Are you alright?"

Beretta waved off the young maid. "It's fine."

However, the young maid could see the pained expression on Beretta's face. It worried her. The veteran maid wasn't exactly young enough to wave off this ailment like she used to when she was young.

"It's because you keep bringing up water for the young master. You don't have to do that. We have plenty of water mages employed in the house. They could summon water for the young master in a single second."

Beretta shook her head. "Nonsense. The young master wants his water a little bit warmer. The water the mages summon is always too cold."

The young maid couldn't help but sigh. "Just because of that, you're breaking your own back? You pamper the young master too much."

Beretta simply smiled. "It's fine. I like it. It's the young master, after all."

After washing himself, Michael immediately made his way towards the house library. This was the place that contained numerous books about a variety of things, from history to the world outside.

As expected of the wealthiest family in the world, they could afford to spend the budget of an entire mansion just to create an unparalleled collection of books from every corner of the globe.

The library itself was so massive that, in his old world, it could have been considered a mansion in its own right.

He spent minutes just wandering around the library, trying to find the section about the topic he wanted to know about.

Finally, he came across it.

Before he figured out how to create the necessary equipment for his faucet, Michael first needed to know if it was feasible to even install plumbing in this house in the first place.

This meant that he needed to see the blueprint of the entire house and study its entire structure.

Michael simply couldn't create the equipment if he didn't know where he was going to install it, so he wanted to get the lay of the land first and foremost.

Finally, he saw a book placed at the top of the shelf labelled 'Bart Vanderbilt Mansion.'

Exactly what he needed.

Climbing the ladder, he finally grabbed the book he needed and immediately sat on a desk before parsing through the pages.

Of course, it was all in this world's language. It didn't matter though, because all he needed was his personal AI assistant to do all that work for him, so he just continued flipping through the pages.

Can you find the optimal placement for the plumbing system?

[Yes. I can.]

[Analyzing…]

Michael continued flipping through the pages and let ChatJK1 process the information and put it into his mind.

If an outsider were to look at him right now, they would think he was just pretending to read like an adult. After all, he was flipping through the pages, his eyes barely drifting across the pages and never even bothered to read them.

[Analysis complete. Would you like me to tell you the optimal location for the plumbing system?]

Tell me.

Suddenly, another burst of information flowed into his brain, revealing tons of intricate details about the mansion's internal structure.

But that wasn't all; he saw the end result of his project. ChatJK1 provided a fully rendered holographic image in his mind, showing the completed plumbing system of the mansion as if it was already installed.

Good…good…now, I just need to learn how to make it.

According to the specifications given to him by ChatJK1, the pipes needed to be made out of copper.

Fortunately, copper wasn't a unique resource in this world, and with the help of his family's vast wealth, he could easily obtain it.

As for shaping them into pipes? That part was easy as well. He had already acquired a repertoire of production-type magic spells from the mages who constructed his birthday venue.

Thanks to his early gathering of mana, Michael was already able to use two-star magic at the ripe age of five.

That was crucial, as both [Metal Bend] and [Metal Fuse] were two star-rated magic spells.

Though he still didn't know much about spells and their rankings, from what he had experienced so far, it seemed that the primary difference between one-star and two-star spells was the amount of mana needed to cast them.

"Okay. I can start building this right now."

With a determined expression, Michael walked out of the library.

To build his project, he couldn't forget the most important part: gathering the materials.

And to have those materials, he first needed to get permission to buy them.

He made his way to a peculiar door in the mansion, his face set in a grim determination of a warrior marching into a battle.

Knock! Knock!

"Come in."

The door opened to reveal the person on the other side of the room, who had a wide smile on their face as if they knew they had complete power over Michael.

"Mother, I've come to bargain."

"Oh? And what is it that you want, my dear boy?" she said while lazily fanning her face with a handkerchief.

"I need to buy something."

His mother stood up and walked to the glass window next to her bed, gazing outside.

"And why should I do that?"

Michael gritted his teeth. "In exchange… in exchange… you can pinch my cheeks. Five times."

Her eyes gleamed. "DEAL!"

And just like that, Michael had secured his materials to finally start his plumbing project—though by the end of the day, his cheeks were left red and swollen.
