Plumbing system presentation

It had been a few days since Michael first met Fudge and evolved the little creature into an intelligent little pet.

Fudge now accompanied him everywhere he went, always lurking in his shadow and eagerly observing the human world, just as it had always wished for.

"Young master," Fudge whispered from his shadow. "I have successfully spread my clones around the City."

"I have become its shadow, its silent observer."

"There are already a few promising candidates that I plan to contact soon. Hopefully, they will join me in my mission. Our main job is to spread our forces to the entire world, influencing them into becoming loyal servants of the great Michael Vanderbilt!"

Michael shook his head in exasperation.

He still couldn't believe that of all things, ChatJK2 had taught the little bugger anime tropes and plot ideas. Instead of giving it something useful like Castelle's Business Management course, ChatJK2 had given the slime an excuse to act like an edgy teenager.

As a result, Fudge used its shape-shifting ability as a slime to create the perfect costume that embodied the 'shadow ninja,' as Fudge liked to call it.

"Fudge, it sounds like you're trying to start a cult," Michael replied to his shadow.

"A Cult?" Fudge murmured thoughtfully. "I like the sound of that…"

Michael chose to ignore that.

"Now, would you please let me focus on the sewer project?" Michael said as he turned his focus back on the papers in his hands.

After a few weeks of preparation, they were finally ready to start the construction of the sewer system. Castelle had meticulously organized every aspect—from employing workers to scheduling and also the material procurement. This made things move extremely smoothly.

And despite its weird quirks, the little slime had actually proven itself very useful in finding talented individuals who could help in the construction.

As it turned out, its clones were actually connected to Michael in some way, allowing him to remotely assess the talent of a lot of people.

It was unfortunate that he didn't find someone with talents as great as Castelle or Fudge, but he had still discovered a lot of people who didn't know they had talent in construction or manufacturing.

Michael told Castelle about those people, and she quickly hired them into the company.

And when she finally met the edgy little Fudge, she was immediately smitten with its cuteness and usefulness.

Soon, Fudge became the sole reason why Reborn was able to recruit numerous talented individuals.

Meanwhile, Michael's parents were also playing a crucial role in the sewer system.

They were able to procure a proper City permit, courtesy of Michael's father, who used the Vanderbilt name to quickly get things rolling. As expected, the higher-ups immediately approved the papers and even allocated funding for the project.

Michael's mother, on the other hand, had also been working tirelessly during the past few days. She quickly spread the word through her social circles that Reborn was going to have a public show to unveil their innovative new inventions that could provide running water inside homes without the use of magic.

As expected of gossip, words quickly spread like wildfire.

When the day of the presentation came, thousands of people had gathered in front of Reborn's office, eager to witness this supposed miracle.

For the demonstration, Michael designed a very simple recreation of the plumbing system using glass pipes, allowing the people to witness the water flowing inside—proving that there wasn't any sort of magic involved.

As soon as they saw water flowing like a wild stream, the spectators gasped as if they had seen a ghost.

"Oh my god! The water is moving!"

"It's a waterfall! How is that possible?!"

To assure them that there was no funny business going on, the Magic Tower itself supervised the presentation and confirmed to the general public that there wasn't any magic contained in the contraption.

Given the strong reputations both Reborn and the Magic Tower had within the community, the public had little reason not to trust them.

Castelle also made sure to have a few employees publicly try out the new faucets and showers in front of the crowd while using Reborn soap and shampoo. This, of course, immediately sent the women into a frenzy, each one urging to have the plumbing system installed in their home.

But perhaps the biggest showstopper product was the revolutionary toilet.

Gasps of wonder and applause filled the air as they saw the waste being effortlessly flushed down the toilet.

"Wow! Amazing!"

"It's so convenient! With this, we don't have to dirty our hands! Incredible!"

In that moment, all skepticism, if they had any, vanished.

Just one presentation of the toilet immediately made people want to buy into the whole package. They now wanted faucets in their kitchen, they wanted showers in their bathroom, and most of all, they wanted toilets in their own homes.

"And you're saying that all we have to do is buy the package, and Reborn will take care of all the construction? Talk about a steal!"

"I want it! I'll buy it!"

But as soon as Castelle announced that the construction was a first-come, first-serve deal, people immediately clamored to be the first ones to buy the package.

"Me first! I got here first!"

"I'll pay double to have it constructed in my house tomorrow!"

"I'll pay triple!"

As the people continued to create a ruckus around the streets, one particular visitor looked at the commotion with a strange expression.

It was a woman draped in an exotic robe, which seemed to have been woven from the finest silk and shimmered under the light.

She rode in a grand carriage, its surface inlaid with what seemed to be colorful scales from a monster. Leading this carriage were multiple bodyguards who wore a similar type of robe, made specifically for combat, flanking her on all sides.

It was clear that this visitor was no ordinary noble. She was someone of immense wealth and importance.

"What is that?" she asked her bodyguards, her gaze locked onto the scene before her..

"That seemed to be some kind of presentation… but… strange, I don't sense any kind of magic in that water. How is it flowing?!" her advisor exclaimed, his voice laced with disbelief.

This immediately caused her expression to shift into one of keen interest. She ordered the carriage to halt, eager to witness the presentation unfold.

As her eyes traced the intricate mechanism—the faucets, showers, and specifically, the toilet—she couldn't help but exclaim, not able to suppress her desire to get one for herself.

Whoever created those inventions was an extremely talented individual, one whose ingenuity seemed out of this world.

"I want it. Buy it for me," she declared without hesitation.

Immediately, her advisor quickly moved to carry out her order.

Even though her home was almost halfway around the world, which meant that the transportation of the plumbing system would cost hundreds of thousands of gold, she didn't care.

She had more than enough money. She was a royal from the Draconic Kingdom, after all.
