The construction progressed quite easily, with the Dwarves and the HobMankeys working together to clean away all the debris and wreckage in the area where the village once stood.
By the time they were done, the whole place had been stripped bare—with nothing more than a bald spot in the middle of the forest.
Thrain and the other dwarves stood in silence, staring at the land that had once been their home. A wave of nostalgia washed over them, but there was no turning back now. Their village was gone; they couldn't make it how it was before.
Finally, they turned their attention to their next task: the construction of a wall that would be more than ten meters tall and stretch from one side of a mountain to the side of another.
