Golden Road

The Golden Road was once a thriving center of commerce and bustled with trade from all over the continent. Merchants exchanged goods in the marketplace that fueled demand and supply, eventually bringing prosperity to all who took part in it.

It was here that Yze Vanderbilt—and many others in this room—got their start.

Yze began as a humble peddler in the Golden Road, trekking across the entire continent to sell spice and silk, scraping together to earn a few bronze coins at a time. Eventually, through his perseverance and ambition, he grew his business into the empire it is today.

However, trade eventually crumbled. Merchant ships crossing continents faced disaster, and the once-thriving trade of exotic goods and items eventually came to a halt.

For Yze and many others, investing billions of gold into ships, crews and months-long voyages wasn't worth the risk—especially when many of them would die in the ocean.
