A Fair Exchange

"What have you done?" Gabriella glared at her son as if she wanted to tear him apart. It was close to morning, but she did not even wink. The moment the party ended, she went straight to confront her son. "Did i not clear myself enough that i want isabella to be your partner. How could you hurt her?" her eyes shooting daggers at her husband.

In comparison to her infuriated and dark face, Edward looked much calmer as if they were only discussing a mundane affair. He passed a glass of water to her shaking mother. 

"It was not me. It was lady Amber Lenhart. She is making sure her position never faces threat." he explained what happened in the garden except Olivia's presence and her offer. 

Gabriella's face darkened further as she gnashed her teeth.

"And you let her." She laughed. "Do you think I have no idea about your abilities?" Leonard sighed. He knew that he could fool the world, but he could not like his mother.
