Olivia took a deep breath. She had thought the exhaustion would help her sleep at last. When was the last time her night was without nightmares? She tossed and turned, her back covered in cold sweat, yet the sleep did not take her.
She shook her head and left her room. Relieved that the knights were not around her room, she went to the garden where she had been with Edward earlier.
With torches burning in every corner, Olivia did not realize how cold it was earlier. Now, the wind seems to be cutting her skin. She held the thin outer robe tightly.
Her feet instinctively took her to that door. It had been long since the ball ended. The knights must have left too. The door was not locked showing nothing important was kept there.
After some hesitation, Olivia opened the door. The flickering candles helped her a little. The room had long gone cold and dark. Yet she could see the flicker of the faces of cheering knights from earlier.
