The steady thrum of the Alpha-M52 engines pulsed in the background. The ship's interior hummed as it went along, at this moment traveling through space, it has entered in it cruise mode as the ship has recently came out of the warp, while the sound of passengers chatting softly could be heard, along with the flipping sounds of holo-mags, and low buzz of music being heard from head phones with the ship cabin.
Many others, young kids especially were staring out the massive observation windows at the shimmering expanse of space. Taking in the beautiful view of the cosmos first hand.
Then, soon thereafter, the soft chime of an announcement system cut through the low murmur, grabbing everyone's attention in that moment.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your onboard coordinator, Maria. Just a quick update for you all."
Came the voice, of a woman.
"We are now thirty minutes out from docking at Fortuna Galaxy's Galactic Border Station Alpha-9."
Some passengers perked up, glancing toward the speakers as Maria continued to speak.
"At this time, we ask that you begin gathering your belongings and securing any loose items. For your safety, and ours, please ensure your seats are upright, and any items in overhead compartments are stowed properly."
There was a brief pause in her words at that moment as she figure out what to say next, fumbling a little as she goes along but remain fluent in her announcement nonetheless.
As the faint sound of papers shuffling in the background could be heard as well.
"Ahh what else was I going to say again... ahh yes that right my bad guys, um If you're disembarking at Alpha-9, you'll want to keep your travel permits and bio-clearance certificates ready for customs. Just a heads-up, they're pretty strict about scans these days especially with the recent Maggie attack on Drana... so please be patient as we work with local authorities."
A few passengers groaned audibly at this, and Maria's tone shifted, a subtle smile audible in her words.
"I know, I know, no one likes waiting in line, but hey, better safe than sorry, right? And for those staying with us past the border, feel free to relax in the Stellar Lounge or grab a bite at Amork Café on Deck 5 while we handle the formalities... And once again thank you for choosing Alpha Interstellar."
With those words said she cut off from the announcement system as the passenger on the cabin went back to their usual discussion, and antic's. On the other hand, on the very forefront of the plane, a single man with purple eyes, and horn with long and wild hair passing his shoulders, he was 6"0 in height, and was sitting near the ship window, he had a pair of glasses on but initially speaking it was not for the improvement of sight, rather it serve a different purpose.
At this very moment, the man was wearing a noble uniform. The man wore a coat that was a deep midnight blue, tailored to fit his broad shoulders and lean frame. With silver embroidery lined the cuffs and collar. Around him was a purple sash crossed diagonally over his chest, fastened with a simple silver clasp, its muted tone matching the faint glow of his amethyst eyes. The uniform was neither overly ornate nor understated, it was simple yet elegant at the same time.
Beneath the coat, he wore a crisp white shirt, the top button left undone. Meanwhile his trousers were a tailored black, the fabric soft yet durable, ending in polished boots that were black and shiney.
His gloves lay neatly folded on the armrest beside him. On the other hand, a long black cape with subtle purple lining rested on the back of his chair, its edges slightly frayed from years of service. This cape however was one that was wore by the previous commander and since it antiquity it had been pass down from Commander to Commander.
Naturally this man was no other than Mammon himself or rather has his new status and title dictates. Commander Mammon Gold, CEO of M-Corp, single, tired, and slightly irritated, for the mere fact that at the very moment. He was being killed in virtual reality.
[You have died... Would you like to try again]
"... Agh, the new Blood and Darkness game is really hard, just when I collect all the sacred ruins... I got snipe by that Cliff giant... Dark Santox ahhhh... Sigh oh well, you win some and you loose some I guess... Although I could really use some new glasses these were cheapest at the time, and they are starting to get slightly beggy now."
Mammon said, as he began to log out of the his account, he has been playing for a while now but with the ship docking soon he needed to prepare to leave. Thankfully he didn't bring anything, but with the number he got from Felix, with specific orders. He was task with texting this person 30 minutes before he landed so they can come and pick him up.
As such controlling the display with his mind, using the Hud in his glasses, he type in a number he got from Felix 1 week ago. Before he move out of his old home, in order to move into his new one. From there he sent a message to Jannet, stating as such.
Mammon: Good Day, Ms Jan... I will be landing in about 30 minutes maybe less, can you meet me at the exist of the station.
...
Some time pass, and a reply came back as the message from the other party came in.
Jannet: Commander... Your Coming Today!!! Was it not Tommarow?!
Looking at this Mammon had a confuse expression on his face as he replied back. Stating as such.
Mammon: Yes, today... I literally send a heads up 2 days ago, stating that I will be arriving today.
Jannet: Ohhhh!!!...
Jannet: OHHHH MY GODDDDDD.... I WILL BE RIGHT THERE THIS INSTANT... JUST DON'T MOVE OK....
Mammon: Why do I feel like you totally forgot.
...
However Mammon did not got back a reply, as such he was left on ice in that moment.
On the other hand, it made him wonder and said.
"Hmm... What a quirky woman... Sigh but still, I am finally back to the place I was born in!! Haaa...
He said out aloud, a slight chuckle and a smile escaping his lips as he continue to speak.
"Hehehe... Now that I think about it, how long has it been since I last came here... Hmm the last thing I remember as a kid was the fact that I always snuck out to play in the Eros mines at the time with someone else. Hmm that was... Ha I can't remember who but I know I did; but yeah that should have been about 169 years ago if I am recalling properly."
Mammon said to himself as he spend a good amount of the remaining time thinking about other childhood memories until the voice of the announcer came in once more.
"Attention passengers!! Good new, we have finally reach our destination, just allow us to dock and from there we will all line up in orderly fashion, and exit the vessel in mannerly way."
