Brazen maid

A crescent moon hung up in the sky, casting a slow glow on the never-ending stretch of white environs covered with snow. Cedric's horse stopped in front of the castle after crossing the gates.

It has been a long night, way past midnight; the sun would be hitting the sky in a few hours. He got off his horse and handed the reins to Elias. Cedric's eyes darted around taking notice of the guards patrolling the perimeter.

From his face to his clothes was smeared with blood, some dripping from his fingertip. "Is there any other thing you require my assistance for, your Highness?" Elias asked.

Cedric was too exhausted to even answer that question, he was spent after having a long night. It was a long killing spree. He was sure he looked like a monster that rose from the depths of hell. "See you in the morning."
