Lucas smirked, leaning back against the tree. "Told you."

Lena took another sip of water, her expression unreadable. Then, slowly, she shook her head. "This is insane."

"You're telling me," Lucas muttered.

Lena wiped her mouth and set the bottle down beside her. "So let me get this straight. You have a game-like system that lets you store items in some kind of magical inventory?"

"Yup."

"And you just… decided to tell me now?"

Lucas sighed. "Would you have believed me earlier?"

Lena glared at him. "Probably not," she admitted. "But that doesn't mean you should've kept it a secret."

Lucas ran a hand through his hair. "Look, I didn't think it mattered. I just wanted to have some fun. I figured, why not take a little vacation? Explore a new world, see some cool stuff, maybe pick up some souvenirs." He gave her a sheepish grin. "Didn't exactly plan on dragging you into it."
