The dense canopy overhead cast dappled shadows on the forest floor, giving the place an eerie, almost mystical atmosphere. The cool air carried the faint scent of damp earth and fresh herbs, and somewhere in the distance, the distant hoot of an owl broke the silence.
Lena wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead and let out a breath. "We'll cover more ground if we split up," she said, scanning the area for any obvious signs of Moonshade Leaves.
Lucas frowned. "Split up? Are you sure that's a good idea?"
Lena shot him a look. "Unless you want to be out here until sundown, yes. It's a simple gathering quest. We'll meet back here when we're done."
Lucas sighed dramatically but nodded. "Fine. But if you get eaten by a wolf, don't blame me."
Lena smirked. "If anyone's getting eaten first, it's probably you."
