Fighting is Such a Hassle

Alice and Lila arrived downstairs, both dressed in their school uniforms—matching gray skirts that reached just above their knees. Chase knew many of the girls would opt for this style, though Lila wore a standard royal blue polo shirt, while Alice had on a royal blue hoodie, the hood down, unlike Chase and Diana, who both had their hoods up. Diana had developed a habit of wearing hoodies, something she picked up from her husband, who always seemed to have one on. She enjoyed the warmth of them, especially now that they had become a source of comfort.

Lyra, who was still sick, had stayed behind with Hecate, who was more than happy to care for her. Hecate had already grabbed some oatmeal for herself and a bowl of porridge that Chase had made for Lyra. She was now heading back to feed it to the sick girl.
