Presumptious!

"First of all, I am Ian from Team 7 of Scout, regarding the mission that we received. We managed to clean up most werewolves invaders, including two true werewolves I killed. However, two of my teammates are severely injured and our captain died to let us escape." Ian's voice wavered a little as he recalled his captain's sacrifice.

The twelve council elders looked at each other and then at Ian. The place descended into silence. Crimson Pyre caressed the line on his mask. With the mention of the invaders, he recalled that they indeed sent a mission for clean up due to the increased sighting of werewolves on the border.

'That mission is intended to reduce their numbers. Not a thorough cleanup. It's not supposed to result in the death of a team leader. Isn't Barseagle the leader of Team 7? With his strength, how could he die?'

As the 1st seat, the strongest Elder that is infinitely close to the realm of Grand Elders. Crimson Pyre had an impression of Barseagle due to his contributions and feats in the last war. If he remembered it right, Barseagle's accomplishment far exceeds his realm as a true vampire. His golden light made his enemies tremble on the battlefield. 'Hmm… He also had a high mission completion rate. Just what had happened?'

The other elders are also deep in thought. Ian just stayed silent as he saw that the council Elder didn't immediately speak. He couldn't help but admire them. 'Thinking before speaking… It seems the Vampire Council isn't like those corrupted management. They don't blabber nonsense but think things through. Except for their weird way of introducing themselves. They're not bad at all.'

Sable Fang knew Barseagle, the Radiator. Everyelders had lived long enough to have an impression about outstanding people. Barseagle was a legendary figure for being the only true vampire capable of being able to escape against Higher Werewolves with ease.

Not to mention, Barseagle only needs another sixty years to become a Higher Vampire through his age. This made Sable Fang saddened at the loss of potential top combat power. With Barseagle's golden light, once he becomes a higher vampire, he may be able to escape against Elder figures like him.

Sable Fang sighed. 'To be honest, even me, I don't know how to damage him once he enters the intangible state. What a pity, he died from a low-level mission like this…'

With a sigh, Sable Fang opened his mouth to say:

"Who killed him? Tell us more details on what happened."

"This is a blow to us. To lose a figure that is about to become a Higher Vampire." Iron Howl said with his teeth gritted. "Those damned werewolves! They're so desperate to reduce our numbers, I'll fucking kill all of them in the next war!!"

Ashen Wing chuckled at Iron Howl. "You're too hot-blooded. There's no need to get worked up. They're just afraid of the potential of our race. After all, we vampires had once almost dethroned the gods."

Crimson Pyre shook his head and tapped his mask three times. "That's only according to scripture. As for its authenticity, there's no proof. The gods had long ascended to the mythical upper realm. I don't know if the upper realm is real. The realm where our Ancestor had gone to and also my ultimate goal…"

'These council elders are quite chaotic. I'm taking back what I've initially thought about them just now. They're already a thousand years old but their behavior isn't that different than most.'

Ian concluded secretly. There's no doubt that the council elders knew what he was thinking. He would have been kicked out by now.

Most vampires looked up at the council elders. Even every elder within the Blood Realm dreams of occupying a seat in the council. The vampire council represents peak authority, strength, wealth, and status. Of course, to become one, you need to step upon the corpses of countless strong.

Ian quickly shook his head and pushed the miscellaneous thoughts at the back of his head. He cleared his throat, organized the thoughts in his mind and said:

"We encountered some lesser werewolves. At first, we are chased by them. Everyone in the team isn't aware of the Captain's strength and identity. He hid his strength from us to test our performance. In the end, I got accepted after I performed well. My teammates; Daniel, Kate, and Liz are kinda weaker than me so it took a while for the captain to accept them."

"So those three are your teammates?" Crimson Pyre asked in response.

The other twelve elders just listened quietly.

Ian gave a nod. "Yes… After that, we proceeded to the border as per the mission's requirement to eradicate any invaders. Simple mission? It's simple on the surface but it's high risk!" He looked at the eyes of every elder straight. "Don't treat me like a fool."

"..."

The 12 council elders looked at Ian in surprise. They didn't expect the Lesser Vampire before the be so gutsy that he dared to speak like this? Everyone in the Blood Realm had nothing but fear and respect for them. It was the first time.

"There's no need to raise your voice like that." Sable Fang, the sixth seat, said calmly but had a dangerous smile beneath the mask.

Multiple auras in different directions descended on Ian which almost suffocated him. But Ian didn't show anything on his face. If It was anyone, they would have surely pissed their pants by now.

"Presumptious! Who do you think are brat!?"

"Is this how juniors behave now? The younger generation seems to have worsened nowadays. In the old days, we were all polite, bowed to our seniority, and spoke with decorum. This generation is indeed a disappointment. Not comparable to our generation."

"Damn it! We are the Vampire Elders! A nobody dares to act like this? Although I like your boldness. That doesn't give you the right to scold us!"

BANG!

"Silence!!!" Crimson Pyre glared at the elders. Then, he looked at Ian with appreciation. "HAHAHA! I like your attitude kid!"

Iron Howl crossed his arms with a grin. He was known as hot-blooded and vigorous, as evidenced by his name. He likes upfront, straightforward kind of people. He couldn't help but give a thumbs up to the kid in front of him and say:

"You are good! Who's the killer of your captain?"

Ian felt the pressure on his body vanish. He breathed a sigh of relief as he saw that they calmed down. "Garry, the Walking Flare. His Blue Nether Flames cancel captain's golden light intangible form."
