Natovis, better known as the Layered City, has seen better days. The upper layers are still intact and still governed by the authorities, but they are nothing compared to what they used to be. 

No one knows what goes on past the 8th floor down from the top. It is estimated that there could be thousands of floors. Things are so far declined that much of history and science is forgotten. 

People turn instead to speculation, legend, and outright guessing to explain the world and universe.  Most do not even know how the city got there.

There is a series of mysterious and unexplained disappearances, none of which have any evidence, except for one. The insolvency to fixing this problem shines light onto the civilizations decline. The public, led by some extraordinary individuals take action to both solve the mystery, turn things around, and figure out why the city declined in the first place.

The Infinity Helix

As a voice spoke through the broadcast system, a fist could be heard hitting a table in the background as the person speaking passionately spoke about opinions of the current events and the latest speculation theories.

The distinguished voice came from non-other than the charismatic and ever increasingly more popular Allington Shambliss. The Allington Shambliss show was on at this late hour.

The show drew more and more of a crowd as of late, likely because people were forced to stay inside of their homes after the hour of 4pm in a mandatory curfew stuck with their thoughts.

"Hey Al, the name is Dobbs. I just wanted to let you know about one of my recent encounters with giants that I see regularly running around on the countryside. So I was all alone walking on the countryside listening to my favoritensong when I saw it: I saw a giant running around in the trees. Then I got an even better look. When it faced my direction, it was the very giant that kidnapped and married my wife 3 months ago!

"I tried to take some pictures, but then the giant appeared to notice me. As he started to run in my direction, I dropped my camera in fear and ran off.

Allington spoke: "Interesting! To all you folks listening at home, don't go out into the woods at night, you might just get kidnapped by giants! And Dobbs, do you know anything else about these mysterious creatures before I let you go.

Well Allington, I have been studying these creatures for years and there is no doubt they have been kidnapping people for years, sacrificing the men and taking the women as wives. There was no doubt the giant I saw out there wanted to kidnap me and was planning to sacrifice me, as the giant population in these parts are known to do."
