Kent, in order to fight more smoothly, severed the connection with Garfield's abilities and linked up with Wukong's abilities instead.
Garfield's combat style made it more of an assassin, while Wukong was more of a warrior.
Although with the help of the system and his own cultivated mental techniques, Kent could share the abilities of two or even more of his beasts simultaneously—giving him an immense advantage over other beastmasters—he decided to focus on his combat techniques and thus gave up some of the extra abilities.
Boom!
A one-hundred-meter-long earth dragon was struck by Kent's wide-reaching "Fire Dragon Scorches the Plains," and with ease, his Black Blade sliced off a huge chunk of it.
The earth dragon, however, felt no pain. It had an endless supply of earth power, and its battle strength remained unaffected as it charged toward Kent, its massive claws glowing with a yellowish light, swiping down.
Kent quickly dodged the swipe, but the edge of the earth power grazed his body, damaging his battle armor and causing some pain, though it didn't cause any real injury.
"You're quite the fighter, but you're still going to die," Kent said, as though the god of war had possessed him, with his fighting spirit boiling over. He battled fiercely with the smaller earth dragon.
"Hidden Dragon Emerges from the Abyss."
"Dominating Dragon Rules the World."
"Fire Dragon Scorches the Plains."
...
After mastering his Dragon Breath Blade Technique, Kent was using it to its fullest for the first time, fighting freely and without restraint.
The smaller earth dragon's strength was roughly that of a peak Emperor-level beast, just about reaching Kent's own battle power limits.
As time went on, Kent felt his combat experience improving dramatically, and his control over his techniques was becoming more refined. He was confident that with a few more battles like this, he'd be able to wield them effortlessly.
In the distance, the Earth Control Chouwa Beast remained near the Gourd Fruit Tree, still releasing the "Earth Vortex" and controlling the three earth dragons formed by its Earth Control ability. It was engaged in a fierce battle with Kent, Wukong, and Garfield.
Kent was handling the pressure well. The maximum stress didn't crush him, but instead helped him focus and enter a state of concentration, making him even more skilled in combat.
Wukong, wielding the 8,000-pound iron rod, leaped and maneuvered through the towering forest, occasionally taking hits but enduring them with his Diamond Body. Every time his rod struck the earth dragon, a burst of intense light erupted, causing parts of the dragon's body to collapse.
As for Garfield, there was no pressure at all. He even became playful, treating the hundred-meter-long earth dragon like a toy.
The Earth Control Chouwa Beast's face grew fierce as it felt insulted. It let out a roar, and its massive body erupted with blinding light, releasing a torrent of earth power like a broken dam, violently spilling out.
This earth power seemed to be its core strength. Once outside its body, it quickly spread in all directions, diving into the nearby soil and rocks.
Suddenly, a violent tremor erupted from the ground, and Kent, airborne, looked down with a frown. The land within a thousand meters was cracking open, like a spiderweb, and the cracks kept widening.
Masses of earth power were being drawn out of the fissures, thick and chaotic, mixed with hard stones. These quickly gathered to form massive weapons and huge beasts—swords, spears, axes, and clubs, as well as tigers, wolves, elephants, and snakes.
Hundreds or even thousands of weapons and beasts surged into the air, blocking out the sky.
Kent, upon witnessing this scene, thought of meteor showers, though the beast was much too showy. It would have been simpler to just send a pile of rocks into the sky.
"Ha!"
The Earth Control Chouwa Beast gave a command, and immediately, everything in the sky—the stones and weapons—seemed to be triggered by a switch and began crashing down toward the earth with earth-shattering force.
Kent's pupils flickered coldly. At this speed, it would be difficult for him to escape in time, so he quickly moved as lightly as a feather, speeding up in the air.
In an open field, he might have had more trouble dodging, but here, in the towering forest with trees three or four hundred meters high, the tangled branches blocked much of the falling earth and stones, making it harder to hit the target.
Kent nimbly weaved through the "earth and stone torrent," avoiding it with ease, while Garfield, after his super transformation, shrank in size by ten times, becoming agile and dodging just as easily.
As for Wukong, he remained fearless, lifting his black rod high. With a flurry of swings, he shattered the massive stone weapons, and even though smaller shards hit him, it barely felt like a scratch.
Boom...
The stone and earth crash landed, sending a deafening sound echoing across the ground, causing even more cracks in the earth.
The three smaller earth dragons, under the control of the Earth Control Chouwa Beast, perfectly avoided the falling debris and once again charged toward Kent.
"Well, it seems like this is all you've got. Your attacks are lacking, and your defense is excessive," Kent said, feeling a bit bored, but he continued to engage with one of the dragons.
Soon enough, Kent noticed his stamina running low. Unlike the guardian beast, which could fight endlessly, he was just a mortal with flesh and blood.
"I wonder if Bajie has found it yet. It's been five minutes already," Kent thought to himself.
Suddenly, Bajie contacted him mentally, and Kent's heart surged with hope.
"It was hidden deep inside the mouth, in the very back, disguised as a tooth. Really sneaky, no wonder it took so long to find."
Kent didn't know what to say. He remembered reading in a novel that dragons often hid their souls in their teeth, and now he was facing something similar.
Now that Bajie had found the Earth Control Spirit Pearl's location, Kent wasted no time. He immediately instructed Bajie to try and destroy the tooth, severing the link between the Earth Control Spirit Pearl and the Earth Control Chouwa Beast.
Once that connection was severed, the guardian beast would lose its formidable Earth Control ability.
Kent had witnessed firsthand how powerful the Earth Control ability was—it was like a force of nature, capable of immense destruction. It truly was a miraculous spirit item.
Since the cosmic shift on earthstar, not only had spiritual herbs appeared, but spiritual items had also begun to surface.
The 500-year-old Snow Mountain Ice Lotus was a low-grade Saint-tier spiritual herb, and from the Earth Control Spirit Pearl's ability to grant such power to the Earth Control Chouwa Beast, Kent believed its rank was at least a Saint-tier item.
A minute later, Bajie finally sent the signal: "It's done."
Immediately, Kent heard a loud cracking sound from the Earth Control Chouwa Beast's mouth, as though something had shattered.
Kent knew Bajie's abilities well enough to realize this wasn't caused by a "piercing" attack—it was likely the Black Dagger at work.
Earlier, he had given Bajie one of the four Black Daggers, crafted from Demon Steel, which was sharp and strong enough to break through the stone teeth.
