Katie had stood up for her in small ways when Helena had troubled her, and despite the distance between them, Aria knew the only person she would truly miss was Katie. It was a strange bond, but it was real.

Katie froze, as if stunned by the sudden embrace, but then her arms slowly wrapped around Aria. It took her just a second to recover, and then she spoke softly, her voice tinged with emotion. "I'll miss you too, Aria. Be good, and take care of yourself." Her gaze swept past Helena, who simply nodded indifferently. There was no warmth in Helena's gesture, just the usual coldness.

She didn't bother addressing her stepsister. Instead, she gave Ryan a small wave. Since he would be joining her later, their farewell was brief.
