Madam Heidi sat on the chair wearing a puffy blue dress which shimmered with silver embroidery that decorated the bodice under candlelight illumination. She maintained a calm look with several gemstone rings on her hands that softly rested on the tabletop as she observed me.
For just head of the servants in the castle she looked exquisitely coiffed with her hair elegantly pinned into an elaborate updo which revealed more power beyond her servant title. She reached for a cup of tea and calmly drank from it.
"You are late." She said without looking at me.
Gritting my teeth I immediately knew that I had no choice but to immediately slip into the role of the docile princess. Clasping my hands in front of me, I bent an ankle behind me as I lowered myself into a courtesy.
"Apologies, I got delayed." I replied, my tone even and rational, careful not to let any of my emotions bleed through.
