I stood in my chaotic little kitchen, marker in hand, glaring at the whiteboard I'd set up for my brilliant master plan.
Okay, so maybe "master plan" was a bit of a stretch. At the moment, it was a smudged mess of arrows, half-erased doodles, and hastily scribbled ideas. But still, this was the first step toward reclaiming my dignity.
"Step one," I muttered, circling the words Make Poison Invisible in angry red ink. "Because what's the point of a perfect poison if the target can see it coming? Idiot."
I capped the marker with a satisfying snap and grabbed another. "Step two: Testing phase. On something less alive than Maeve for now, because apparently poisoning a teacher is frowned upon. Stupid rules."
I paused, tapping the marker against my chin. "Step three…hmm…"
The word revenge was already scrawled at the top in huge, dramatic letters. It felt like it deserved some underlining.
