By the time I made it to my room, I was ready to collapse. My brain was fried, my body was exhausted, and my nerves were frayed to the point of snapping. All I wanted was to crawl into bed and pretend this day hadn't happened.
But, of course, life had other plans.
The moment I opened the door, I froze. Leora was sitting on my bed, flipping through one of my textbooks like she had every right to be there. She looked completely at ease, her legs crossed and her expression amused as if my room were her personal reading lounge.
"Leora?" I blinked, trying to process the sight in front of me. "What are you doing here?"
She looked up from the book, raising an eyebrow. "Good evening to you too, Rhiannon. I thought I'd drop by for a little chat."
"A chat," I repeated flatly, stepping inside and closing the door behind me. "You couldn't wait until morning?"
