"If only your daughters could see you right now!!" Maxwell showed an evil expression and looked under the bed.
Silvia didn't understand what he meant but she followed Maxwell's gaze, when his gaze met the little head that was peeking out from under the bed... The mansion began to shake!!
The windows in all the rooms shattered and suddenly a blinding light filled every room.
Arrrggg
Maxwell and Silvia closed their eyes. The light was so strong and sudden that it blinded them immediately. They covered themselves with their arms and slowly tried to open them again.
The light was still very strong and blinding, but they were slowly getting used to that level of light. At first, the only reason for their blindness was the sudden change in light.
"What's going on?" Maxwell got out of bed and noticed that the light was so bright that it seemed like dawn had suddenly come on. His room was so well lit that Silvia and Adelaida could see each other clearly.
The two looked at each other for an awkward moment before gravity seemed to stop working and the three people in the room began to float for no reason.
"Ahhhhhhhhh." Adelaida screamed and tried to grab onto the bed but ended up stuck to the ceiling.
Maxwell and Silvia suffered the same fate but unlike Silvia and Adelaida who panicked looking everywhere. He got up face down on the roof and walked across it until he reached the wall where the window was.
When he saw what was outside, he couldn't believe it... Three white suns were suspended in Brenor's sky, illuminating the night like day. Giant stones, horses and trees flew across the sky, painting one of the most incredible scenes Maxwell had ever seen.
The scene lasted a few minutes before Maxwell's incredulous eyes before everything disappeared as if it had never existed in the first place.
The force holding them to the ceiling disappeared so suddenly that Maxwell couldn't react in time and fell but with a second brain he still landed on his legs.
Holding the back of his neck with clenched teeth, Maxwell pulled on his clothes.
"Gather everyone in the dining room," he said to both women who had already put on their robes.
"What for?" Silvia asked.
"We have to be together, in case something happens."
"Ok" Silvia nodded at her words, took Adelaida's hands and ran out of the room.
Maxwell stared out the window for a few seconds before going down to the dining room as well.

"What are we doing here?! And why is he here?!" Veronica snorted, puffing out her giant chest arrogantly.
Everyone had woken up to the strange events of the night and had come down after Silvia had asked for their assistance. But Veronica couldn't pass up an opportunity to behave like a spoiled child.
Filip remained silent as usual. There was a clear barrier between Adelaida and Silvia now, when before they were very close.
Maxwell on the other hand, leaned his back against the wall and closed his eyes. He really wanted to sleep after such a long and busy day but he was afraid of what could happen in the middle of his sleep, when he was most vulnerable.
The only one who responded to Veronica was Andrea.
"If you don't want to be here, you can go to your damn room." Andrea pointed at her. "No one is forcing you."
"Shut up already!" Silvia shouted in exasperation. "We could be under attack, this is not the time for useless discussions."
"Attack? Don't be ridiculous. When in the entire history of the empire has anyone attacked Brenor?" Veronica laughed like crazy. "No one is that stupid!"
"Even if we can't separate for now. Right now it's better to be together," Silvia replied.
Veronica gritted her teeth angrily, slammed her fist on the table and pointed at Silvia. "I already told you that nothing is going to hap-"
*Boooommmm!!!*
The mansion suddenly shook violently. Utensils scattered across the floor and decorations were broken. Veronica, who was in the middle of her tantrum, fell to the ground and cut herself on the broken porcelain tiles that were on the floor.
"We have to get out of here!!" Maxwell shouted as he tried to lean against the wall.
"Are you crazy?! We're safer here!" Veronica screamed hysterically. "Who knows what's out there!!"
Maxwell wanted to disagree, but he knew Veronica was partly right. He didn't know what could be waiting for them out there.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!!" Andrea screamed in fear as she saw a huge stone pillar fall from the ceiling.
"Damn it!!" Maxwell activated his lightning speed and climbed onto the table to catch the pillar that was falling towards Andrea and Silvia.
Urrhhhhgggggg
Although the pillar had not completely fallen and Maxwell was not supporting his full weight, his shoulder took the full brunt of the impact and was dislocated.
"Get out!!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.
Without much thought, he invested all the points needed to raise his strength to five times that of an average adult.
"Arrrrrgggggggg!!" Maxwell screamed as he knocked the heavy pillar aside.
They had all followed his advice and rushed to the mansion's door. But once there, they discovered that they were unable to open it. Part of a wall had fallen, blocking the door in the process.
"Now what do we do?!" Veronica asked in panic.
"Get out of the way!!!" Maxwell ran through them like a madman and crashed into the blocked door.
*Crack!!! Boom!!*
Both doors were blown wide open with debris flying from the force of the impact.
"Get out!! Get out now!!" He shouted from outside.
"What do we do now?" Andrea asked.
The ground continued to shake with recurring sounds of explosions in the distance.
Maxwell ignored her, biting on a rag he grabbed his arm and pulled hard. He didn't know anything about medicine and he didn't know if what he was doing was right either. But he couldn't just leave his arm like that in the face of a possible attack.
"Crack"
Arrrrrggggg
Maxwell's scream was muffled by the rag in his mouth but everyone could hear it clearly.
"We need to get out of here," Maxwell managed to say through gritted teeth. "It's not safe here!"
"Yes, but where?" Andrea asked.
"To the outer city." Maxwell said as he twisted his arm around to check for any pain and moved his fingers. "The sounds are mainly coming from the imperial district. The further we go, the better."
When Maxwell saw that he didn't feel any discomfort in his arm, he nodded.
"Follow me!" he said as he turned around.
"And who are you to tell us what to do?" Veronica screamed with a red face. "We are the masters and you are just a gentleman."
"Veronica!!" Silvia shouted angrily.
"What?!!" Veronica turned to face Silvia, completely out of her mind. "Who are you to tell me what to do? You're just a whore that my father threw away!! You're all just trash that no one wants or needs."
She turned to look at Filip who was staring at her coldly. "You are so useless that our father didn't even give you a chance to fight for the succession. You were thrown into the order like the rest of the trash here."
"And you..." Veronica looked at Adelaida and Andrea, but especially Andrea. "You're just a bunch of semen sacks sent to roll around with any halfway good gentleman. Your existence only serves political purposes and first class whores."
"Youuuuu!!!" Andrea pointed at Veronica, her hands shaking with anger. "Repeat what you said!"
Small black spots began to appear on Andrea's white, tender skin. Her eyes turned an abysmal black, giving her a very sinister and threatening appearance.
"Enough!" Maxwell grabbed Andrea's hand, which had already been raised.
"Get away!!" Andrea screamed hysterically as she tried to break free from his hold, but even using all her strength she couldn't move her arm even an inch.
Andrea turned her head in surprise only to see Maxwell's gaze slowly growing darker and darker with small sparks of electricity in them.
"Come on," Maxwell said coldly. He let go of her arm and turned away. "If she wants to stay, that's her problem."
Andrea was now free to fight Veronica, but she didn't. She felt that Maxwell's words were not a simple suggestion. Remembering Maxwell's fight with Derek, she couldn't help but tremble a little in fear.
"You're in luck!" Andrea gave Veronica a venomous look before turning around and catching up with Maxwell and the others who had already left them behind.
Veronica's face turned an unusual red as she watched the five people leaving a few meters away.
"Wait!!!" Veronica stood in the way of Maxwell and the others. "Where do you think you're going? I haven't given you permission!!"
Maxwell was already starting to get angry, he looked at Veronica as if she were an idiot. He couldn't understand how stupid and arrogant someone could be to behave like that.
No one in their right mind would do that...
Maxwell's heart began to beat at a very slow rate and sweat began to run down his lower back.
Why would someone behave in such a way in a situation of obvious danger? This was not normal.
I had been treating the situation as if it were a movie where there was always an antagonist who was arrogant and hateful for no reason.
But... What if it wasn't like that?
Veronica had been behaving very strangely from the beginning, trying by all means to prevent them from leaving the property. Both inside and outside the mansion.
She wanted to keep them here so badly that it was already very strange and obvious.
His heartbeat slowed down so much that it stopped for a brief second.
That very second was when Maxwell instinctively jumped to the side in panic.
Maxwell's sudden jump caught everyone off guard wondering the reason for such an irrational act, but under everyone's surprised eyes, the shadow that was not supposed to leave his feet, moved on its own taking the form of a large blade and piercing through Maxwell's previous position.
The blade didn't stop after missing its original target and continued on its way, piercing Andrea from her abdomen and lifting her a few inches off the ground.
Andrea's eyes popped out of her head as she felt a sudden and terrible pain. With a look of disbelief on her face she looked at her abdomen where the large blade took up almost her entire torso from her chest to her hip.
"Y-" Andrea couldn't even get a word out before vomiting blood and then another shadow emerged and pierced her head.
Ahhhhhhh!!! Adelaida screamed in terror, taking refuge in her mother's safe arms.
Maxwell, Filip and Silvia turned their heads to watch as Veronica's face slowly changed from that of a stupid, spoiled and arrogant girl. To a calm and cold face.
"Oh?!! You were able to evade that?" Veronica smiled with a look of interest. "My attack couldn't have been foreseen by anyone. So... How did you know?"
Maxwell's heart began to beat normally again, but his state of extreme concentration remained. Everything was very sudden and surprising, but his mind acted very quickly, jumping with his hands, which made him get up from the ground very quickly. Electricity ran through his body at first sight, observing Veronica carefully without saying a word.
"You don't want to tell me?" Veronica leaned forward in a very sexy pose showing him her gigantic tits that were sticking out of her cleavage. She put one of her fingers in her mouth and looked at him provocatively. "I know very well how you look at me. If you tell me, maybe..."
"Sword!" Maxwell shouted, still staring at Veronica.
"Here!" Filip, who had remained equally calm throughout, threw his own sword at him.
Maxwell didn't wait for the sword to reach him. He activated lightning speed, grabbed the sword in mid-air and charged at insane speed towards Veronica.
*Bommm!!*
Maxwell split Veronica in half with such force that the ground was split as well. But as the two parts of Veronica were splitting, she turned into two shadows that blended into the surrounding darkness.
Maxwell raised his guard and looked around cautiously.
"That's my family's special ability, we can hide in the shadows and attack from them." Filip turned his eyes in all directions very carefully. "It's impossible to tell where she is now."
"It's a very annoying skill." Maxwell clicked his tongue with maximum concentration on the surroundings. Unexpectedly the attack came from his own shadow, where a slender arm holding a dagger rose.
Maxwell's heart beat rapidly, and as fast as he could he swung his sword towards the arm. Maxwell's movement was by far faster. But before he could connect with Veronica's arm it dissolved into the shadows.
"Shit!!" Maxwell's sword hit the void, throwing him off balance a little, and he still hadn't gotten used to his new strength, but he quickly regained his stance for fear of another attack.
Indeed, another attack appeared, this time from behind. With a quick turn, Maxwell swung horizontally, but Veronica's silhouette merged with the shadows.
