Alexia's POV
I stared out the window, watching the city blur past as Aiden drove in complete silence.
It took me a few minutes to realize something was wrong.
This wasn't our usual way home.
My heartbeat stuttered.
I shifted in my seat, forcing myself to stay calm as I looked around, trying to figure out where exactly he was taking me.
Maybe he just had to make a stop somewhere.
But the farther we drove, the less convinced I became.
Panic curled in my stomach.
What if he finally remembers?
The thought hit me hard, making my fingers clench into my lap.
I swallowed, my mind racing.
What if he had finally pieced it together? What if this entire time, he had been playing along, just waiting for the right moment to make me pay?
My breathing quickened.
