In a sudden burst of motion, the Shadow Wolf materialized from the darkness, charging at them with terrifying speed. Kai barely had time to react as it lunged forward, its jaws snapping shut just inches from his face. He rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the beast's bite, and sprung to his feet.
"Master!" Selene shouted, her voice filled with urgency. She raised her hand, summoning a wave of destructive energy, but the Shadow Wolf was too quick. It darted into the shadows again, vanishing before she could strike.
"This thing's fast!" Kai gritted his teeth. "We need to find a way to track it."
Selene was already moving, her form a blur as she scanned the area. "Its movements are guided by the labyrinth's shadows," she said, her tone serious. "It's not just a beast—it's part of the maze itself."
Before Kai could process her words, the wolf reappeared, this time leaping high into the air, its jaws open wide to deliver a fatal blow. But in that moment, Kai saw it—the shadow surrounding the creature wasn't just part of the environment. It was feeding off its strength, becoming stronger with every passing second.
