The night was unusually quiet, the kind of peace that had made Arjuna restless. He was sitting on the edge of a roof, looking out at the vast city below. The rumble of traffic and flickering street lights were a reminder of how ordinary Delhi can seem – despite the chaos hidden beneath its surface.
The sword rested beside him, suppressing its glow, as if it was taking even a moment to reflect. The weight of Avni's words was still etched in his mind.
"A glimpse of what might happen," she murmured, recalling the vision.
"You should take some rest," Vikram's voice came from behind him.
Arjuna turned around and saw the veteran warrior climbing up to join him. Vikram raised his spear carelessly, his golden tip fainting under the moonlight.
"Relax?" asked Arjuna, raising his eyebrows. "Is it all going on? It's hard to believe that you get any sleep yourself.
Vikram laughed and sat beside her. "You're not wrong. But part of surviving this life is knowing when to take a break. Otherwise, it will eat you alive.
Arjuna did not answer. He stared at the city, his thoughts a tangled mess.
Sudden turbulence
The peaceful moment was short-lived. A distant rumble echoed through the air, faint but unmistakable.
Vikram was on his feet in an instant, his eyes scanning the horizon. "This is not normal.
Arjuna followed her gaze, his heart sinking as he saw a faint, pulsating light in the distance.
"Another violation?"
"No violation," Vikram said, his tone serious. "It's hell energy.
"Keeping up with the energy?"
"Asura Kshetra," Vikram explained. "If we're dealing with it, it's going to get ugly."
He turned to Arjuna, his expression serious. "Come with me.
"Wait, what?" said Arjuna, startled. "Didn't you tell me to relax?"
"Now is not the time to rest," said Vikram, already moving towards the edge of the terrace. "It could be the start of something bigger. We need to stop it before it spreads.
Descent into chaos
The source of the disturbance was an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city. The building was a crumbling relic of Delhi's industrial past, with its windows shattered and walls soaked with graffiti.
As they came closer, Arjuna felt the air become cold. A dark, oppressive energy seemed to radiate from the factory, making his skin crawl.
"This place feels ... Wrong," said Arjuna, clutching the sword tightly.
"It's hell energy for you," Vikram said, his voice low. "Stay close.
The two of them carefully entered the factory, their steps echoing against the cracked concrete floor. The interior was lit by the faint glow of the breech - a swirling swirl of black and red energy suspended in the air.
But this violation was different. Dark tendrils flutter out of it like snakes, writhing and living things. And in front of him stood a figure wrapped in shadow, his form humane but distorted.
"An asura," Vikram said under his breath.
The Asura Appears
The figure changed, his glowing red eyes locking on them. It stepped forward, revealing a monstrous face with sharp, angular features and skin that seemed to shimmer with dark energy.
The man, the demon hised, his voice echoing unnaturally. "Do you dare to interfere with the will of hell?"
Vikram stepped forward, his spear was ready. "Hell's will is not here. Go back to your realm.
The Asura laughed, a deep, memorizing sound that sent cold down Arjuna's spine. "Do you think you can stop me?" Foolish mortals. This violation is just the beginning. Soon, your world will crumble, and the territories will be ours.
Without warning, Asura raised his hand, and the tendrils burst like whips from the cracks. Vikram dodged, rolled aside and threw his javelin with precision. The weapon hit Asura's shoulder, but he barely slipped.
"Arjun!" shouted Vikram. "Flank it!"
Arjuna hesitated, his tendency to run yelling at him. But then she remembered Avni's words- capacity alone is not enough.
He gritted his teeth and charged.
fight
The Asura turned his attention to Arjuna, his tendrils snapping towards him like serpents. Arjuna ducked and weaving, the sword guiding his movements. He came the blade, slicing through one of the tendrils, which dissolved in black smoke.
"Not bad," said Vikram, pulling out his spear. "Keep it distracted!"
"Easier said than done!" shouted Arjuna back, narrowly avoiding another strike.
The Asura let out a roar, his form swollen with dark energy. It slammed its fist into the ground, causing shocks at the factory. Arjun faltered, barely keeping his foot.
Vikram took advantage of the opportunity and went ahead and stabbed his spear in the chest of the asura. The creature screamed in pain, his body trembling as cracks of light appeared on his skin.
"Now, Arjun!" shouted Vikram.
Summoning all his courage, Arjuna picked up the sword and charged. The blades glow brighter than ever, pulsing with divine energy. He jumped into the air, bringing down the sword in a powerful arc.
The blade hit true, piercing the core of the Asura.
The creature let off a final, ear-breaking scream before exploding in bursts of dark energy. The violation itself collapsed, leaving only silence in its wake.
result
Arjuna fell to his knees, his chest heavy. The sword's lustre faded, its energy was spent.
Vikram approached, his expression was one of approval. "It's not bad, son. Not bad at all.
Arjuna looked at her, tired but alive. "What... Was that the point?"
"An Asura lieutenant," Vikram said, offering him a hand. "They're stronger than the defender but nowhere near the top of the chain. Still, you organized your own.
Arjuna took her hand and stood at her feet. "If he was just a lieutenant, I'd not really be expecting to meet his boss.
Vikram laughed. "Both you and me.
As they walked out of the factory, Arjun now glanced at the empty space where there was a crack. He knew this was just the beginning, but for the first time, he felt a spark of confidence.
He had survived. And he was ready for whatever came next.
