Kane stepped out of her study, inhaling deeply to steady her nerves as the scent of aged wood and leather lingered in the air. The weight of the recent emergency had lifted just enough to grant her a fleeting moment of clarity. She had ensured the matter was handled—strategies discussed, compromises made. Now, it was time to face the feast. The gathering would be exclusive to her, Valere, Soraya, and the king—a chance to meet her second wife. It was quite weird to acknowledge they were wed, without having met before.

Before entering, Kane prepared herself mentally, pushing aside the lingering doubts that gnawed at her. I can do this, she reminded herself. With one last glance in the mirror, she adjusted her attire, a flowing gown in deep emerald that accentuated her strength while exuding elegance and authority. The fabric swayed gently as she moved, a soothing reminder of her own resilience.

As she entered the grand dining hall, the soft glow of candles illuminated a lavish table set for four, reflecting off polished silverware and crystal goblets. The air was warm with the scent of roasted meats and fragrant herbs. The king rose with a wide smile, arms open in warm welcome. "Ah, my fierce knight! I'm glad you could join us for this splendid occasion. The table is set, but I fear it pales in comparison to your radiant presence."

Kane redirected her attention to Valere, whose poised elegance spoke of confidence and composure. Their eyes locked for the first time, a silent contest of strength unfolding between them, each sizing the other up amidst the vibrant chatter and laughter that filled the room. In contrast, Soraya, with her playful demeanor, broke the tension. "You seem a bit weary after handling that emergency, Kane."

Kane chuckled softly, appreciating Soraya's ability to lighten the mood. "I'm fine, really. Just a lot on my mind." The king, ever the gracious host, took the lead in steering the conversation. "Tonight, we celebrate not just Kane joining our side, but also the marriage pacts sealed. Let's make this a night to remember." Kane nodded

"Kane," Valere began, her tone formal yet inviting, "it's a pleasure to finally sit across from you in a setting like this. I must say, you carry yourself with a strength that is both admirable and rare." She paused, allowing her words to sink in, her gaze unwavering as she assessed Kane's reaction.

Kane met Valere's gaze, feeling the weight of her presence. "Thank you, Mi'lady." Kane replied, her voice steady despite the nerves fluttering beneath the surface. "I've heard much about you, and I must admit, the reality of meeting you is far more captivating than any tale."

Valere tilted her head slightly, a flicker of approval crossing her face. "Charming, I see. Perhaps you've picked up a few lessons in flattery along the way," she said with a playful arch of her brow.

Kane and Valere's conversation flowed seamlessly, the two women navigating their thoughts and intentions beneath layers of formality and unspoken challenges. As they exchanged witty banter, Soraya hovered nearby, her playful demeanor masking her true intent.

With a bright smile, she filled Kane's glass again, the amber liquid glinting invitingly in the candlelight. "Just one more, my dear! It's a celebration after all," she urged, her tone cheerful, but there was a glimmer of mischief in her striking eyes. Kane, caught up in the moment and the allure of the festivities, felt a slight pressure to comply.

Kane raised the glass to her lips, a warmth spreading through her as the alcohol hit her system. "I suppose a toast to new beginnings is in order," she said, unaware of Soraya's cunning plan. The world around her began to blur softly, laughter and conversation blending into a melodic hum.

As Soraya refilled Kane's glass yet again, she kept her expression light and engaging, but inside, she felt a surge of excitement mixed with a tinge of possessiveness. The more Kane drinks, the more vulnerable she becomes. I'll be the one to guide her through this evening, Soraya thought, a predatory glint flashing in her eyes. With every glass, I can weave my influence deeper into her heart.

Kane's laughter bubbled up, mingling with the rising haze of alcohol. This is all so… liberating, she thought, feeling the warmth of camaraderie envelop her. But as Soraya continued to pour, Kane felt the edges of her awareness dulling, and the gravity of the room began to shift. Why am I so dizzy?

As the night drew to a close, Soraya led Kane back to her chamber, Valere watching with a simmering jealousy.

Soraya escorted Kane to her chamber, playfully pushing her onto the bed before settling herself on top of Kane, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Soraya leaned closer, her voice a sultry whisper meant only for Kane's ears. "You know, Kane, it's perfectly alright to let go once in a while. Embrace the moment," she encouraged, her words draping over Kane like silk. I'll be your anchor tonight, love. Just lean into me.

Soraya's lips brushed against Kane's, soft yet insistent, coaxing her deeper into the moment. "You've been so tense, Kane… Let me help you relax." As she whispered those words, she felt Kane's fingers tremble slightly as they traced the delicate curve of her jaw, a hesitant yet eager exploration.

"It's just us tonight, no one else. You can let go with me." Soraya leaned in closer, her breath warm against Kane's cheek, a sweet invitation laced with promises of intimacy. Kane's heart raced, her body responding instinctively as she pulled Soraya closer, their bodies molding together.

Kane's fingers tangled in Soraya's red hair, pulling her in as their lips finally met in a heated kiss. The world around them faded, and all that existed was the two of them, locked in this electric moment. Kane's touch was confident yet tender, her hands gliding down Soraya's sides, exploring the curve of her waist, the softness of her skin beneath the thin fabric of her dress. She could feel the warmth radiating from Soraya, and it fueled her desire, pushing aside any remnants of doubt.

"God, you taste so sweet…" Kane murmured against Soraya's lips, her voice thick with yearning. Their mouths moved in a sensuous rhythm, each kiss deeper and more urgent than the last. Kane's grip tightened, drawing Soraya even closer, their bodies pressing together as if they were two pieces of a puzzle finally fitting into place.

Soraya's heart raced as she deepened the kiss, her hands exploring the solid muscles of Kane's back, pulling her in with a desperate need. She's even better than I imagined… The thought sparked a wild desire within Soraya, who melted under Kane's touch. Kane's fingers trailed down Soraya's back, sending electric tingles through her body. She felt the way Kane's touch was both assertive and gentle, coaxing her closer and igniting a fire that spread through every inch of her.

"You're so strong…" Soraya breathed. The kiss deepened, their mouths moving together as Kane's hands slid lower, cupping Soraya's waist and pulling her closer until their bodies were flush against each other, the heat radiating between them.

Kane's kisses traveled from Soraya's lips to her neck, each one sending shivers cascading through Soraya's body. "You feel so good…" Kane whispered against her skin, her voice heavy with desire. The touch of Kane's lips against her throat was intoxicating, a heady mix of urgency and tenderness that made Soraya gasp softly.
