The halls of the Academy felt heavier than before, as if the very walls carried whispers of unseen forces converging. Eren walked with purpose, his mind processing everything that had happened in the past few hours.
The battle in the Grand Library.
The cryptic warning from the assassins.
Professor Alistair's strange reaction.
And most importantly… The Obsidian Covenant.
They were out there, lurking in the shadows, pulling the strings of something far bigger than he had anticipated.
But what was their goal?
Eren exhaled slowly, his hands tucked into his pockets. He needed information.
And in the Academy, information was more valuable than power.

A Meeting in the Dark
As he turned a corner, a familiar figure was waiting in the dimly lit corridor.
Soren.
The silver-haired informant leaned against the stone wall, his violet eyes flickering with amusement.
"You're alive," Soren said, smirking. "I assume the assassins weren't as terrifying as the rumors claimed?"
Eren stopped a few feet away. "They weren't weak."
Soren raised an eyebrow. "Yet, you're here. And they're not."
Eren didn't respond. Instead, he met Soren's gaze, his expression unreadable.
"I need information."
Soren chuckled. "You always do."
Eren stepped closer. "The Obsidian Covenant."
The amusement in Soren's eyes faded in an instant.
For the first time, Eren saw something resembling genuine concern cross his face.
"Where did you hear that name?" Soren's voice was quieter now.
Eren tilted his head. "So you do know them."
Soren exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Knowing them and surviving them are two different things, my friend."
Eren remained silent, waiting.
After a moment, Soren sighed. "Alright. Fine. But this will cost you."
Eren nodded. "Name your price."
Soren hesitated before speaking. "A favor. One I'll call in when the time comes."
It was a dangerous bargain.
But Eren had no choice.
"Deal."

Secrets of the Covenant
Soren's expression turned serious.
"The Obsidian Covenant is an ancient order, far older than the Academy itself," he began. "They aren't just assassins. They're manipulators, orchestrators… they create wars before they even begin."
Eren listened carefully.
"They deal in forbidden magic. Blood pacts. Soul contracts. Cursed relics."
Soren's voice dropped lower. "Their existence is erased from history, but they exist within the Academy."
Eren's fingers twitched slightly.
"So they're already here."
Soren nodded grimly. "Yes. And they don't operate like normal enemies. They don't kill for sport. If they came for you, it means…"
"They see me as a threat," Eren finished.
Soren's lips pressed into a thin line.
"And that means," Soren muttered, "they won't stop."
Eren absorbed the information, his mind already working through possible strategies.
A hidden order within the Academy.
A secret war happening beneath the surface.
And somehow, he was caught in the middle of it.
Good.
If they wanted a fight, he'd give them one.

The First Move
Eren turned away. "Thanks for the warning."
Soren smirked. "I'd say 'stay safe,' but I doubt that's possible for someone like you."
Eren chuckled darkly. "I don't intend to be safe."
As he disappeared into the shadows, a single thought burned in his mind.
If the Obsidian Covenant wanted him dead…
Then he would bring the fight to them first.
This was no longer just survival.
This was war.
