Winter's thoughts had stopped, overwhelmed by the situation that had developed and ended so suddenly.
As Winter slightly turned her face to the side, Hugo slowly removed his hand that had been covering her face.
Winter looked up at Hugo with a dazed expression and said,
"Shouldn't we, um, leave now?"
"If we leave now, we'll be caught."
"Ah, right, of course."
"Let's wait a moment."
Winter, at a loss for words, still looked dazed. As various thoughts raced through her mind, Winter found herself newly amazed.
This personality-disordered man's quick thinking was simply astonishing. Thanks to his incredibly swift response, they were able to quickly avoid a dangerous situation. It seemed there was a good reason why he had earned the reputation of winning every case as a lawyer.
Hugo was silently looking down at Winter.
Their bodies remained pressed closely together. Neither seemed to have any intention of moving first.
