undeniable feelings

Ever was still lost in the warmth of Alessandro's kiss when the sharp ring of her phone shattered the moment. She blinked, pulling back slightly, but Alessandro didn't let her go.

"Let me—" she started, but he turned his head toward the sound of the phone, his expression hardening.

Without a word, Alessandro stepped past her, picked up the phone, glanced at the screen, and frowned.

"It's Ethan," he said flatly.

"Alessandro, give it back," Ever said, reaching for the phone.

But instead of handing it to her, he tossed it onto the table with a clatter. The ringing stopped as it hit the surface, and silence hung heavy in the room.

"You were about to answer that, weren't you?" he asked, his voice low and edged with something dangerous.

Ever crossed her arms, trying to keep her composure. "It doesn't concern you."
