As they arrived at the hotel, Allesandro personally escorted Ever inside, his hand resting protectively on the small of her back.
Ever sighed as they stepped into the luxurious suite, exhaustion finally settling in. Allesandro closed the door behind them, then turned to face her.
"You need to rest," he said firmly, loosening his tie.
Ever rubbed her temple. "I know, but—"
"No buts," he interrupted, stepping closer. "I don't want you stressing over anything. The twins are fine, and Matteo will bring them back when they're ready."
She looked up at him, seeing the determination in his eyes. "You're really going all out, huh?"
He smirked. "Of course. You're carrying my child."
Ever exhaled, feeling warmth spread in her chest. Despite everything, despite the past, Allesandro was still here, taking care of her in ways no one else ever had.
Without warning, he bent down and scooped her up into his arms.
