We need to talk

As they stepped into the house, Ever didn't even wait for him to take off his coat. She turned sharply on her heel, her voice steady but firm. "Allesandro Wales, we need to talk."

That got his attention. His brows rose slightly at the use of his full name she never called him that unless she meant business.

"Alright," he said slowly, closing the door behind him. "Talk."

Ever took a deep breath, gathering every ounce of strength she had. "You can't keep controlling every part of my life. Showing up unannounced, deciding what's best for me without asking it has to stop."

He folded his arms, leaning against the wall, eyes narrowed in that intense way that always made her heart skip ,this time, with frustration. "I'm not controlling you, Ever. I'm protecting you and our child."

"Protecting me?" She scoffed. "No, Allesandro. You're suffocating me. I need space to breathe, to make my own choices. I can't live in a cage, no matter how gilded it is."
