Chapter 110: Here’s a Special Call-Out for Tang San

Dugu Bo, a master of poisons, naturally knew that some poisons acted quickly while others took time. However, antidotes were different.

No matter how powerful an antidote was, it could only suppress the poison initially, then slowly eliminate it like peeling away layers of silk. Even then, the body would still feel slightly weakened.

But Jerry's potion was different. After drinking it, not only were all the toxins removed, but he also felt incredibly energetic, with no aches or pains.

This was so shocking that even someone as composed as Dugu Bo couldn't help but curse.

After the initial shock, Dugu Bo was filled with immense joy.

Not only had his granddaughter's poison been cured, but the poison that had plagued him for decades was also gone. He even felt that the bottleneck restricting his soul power was loosening.

With some focused cultivation, breaking through to the next level would be no problem.

'Shen An, Shen An, you've saved both our lives. How can I ever repay you?' Dugu Bo thought to himself. Despite his eccentric and reclusive nature, he valued gratitude above all else.

"By the way, where is Shen An? Why can't I see him?" Dugu Bo asked.

Tom and Jerry both pointed to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Springs. Dugu Bo looked over and saw a person and a sword immersed in the springs.

"Holy crap! My ancestors! What the hell are you doing in there?" Dugu Bo, who had nearly died in the springs himself, knew their dangers all too well.

Seeing Shen An inside, Dugu Bo didn't dare delay. He activated his soul power, ready to jump in and rescue Shen An.

He jumped—or at least tried to. His legs were being held back. Confused, he looked down.

Tom and Jerry were each holding onto one of his legs. Dugu Bo fell silent once again.

He could accept that the cat and mouse were skilled in pharmacology—the world was full of wonders, after all.

But how could they possibly restrain a Title Douluo at full power? Even if he was the weakest among Title Douluo in direct combat, these two little creatures, who didn't even seem to have reached a hundred years of cultivation, shouldn't have been able to stop him.

Jerry quickly took out paper and pen, explaining that Shen An was fine. This reassured Dugu Bo, who sat down silently to watch over Shen An.

As for how Tom and Jerry could pull out various items out of thin air, Dugu Bo no longer cared. These two little creatures were full of too many unbelievable things.

He didn't want to use his limited understanding to speculate about their magic.

After an unknown amount of time—

Shen An suddenly opened his eyes in the springs. His Azure Sword Eyes now contained traces of extreme Yang and Yin, with flashes of red and blue, but ultimately, they were dominated by a deep azure.

The Nine-Leaf Sword Grass had also undergone a transformation. Tempered by the convergence of water and fire, its edge shone with a cold, sharp light.

A blue glow illuminated the entire valley as Shen An emerged from the springs. He had never felt so refreshed in his life.

He instinctively checked his system panel:

Host: [Shen An] (Level 32 Soul Master)

Martial Soul: [Nine-Leaf Sword Grass (Ultimate Martial Soul)]

Companions: [Tom and Jerry]

Fame Points: [5482]

Strange, why was it still labeled as an "Ultimate Martial Soul"? Shen An was puzzled and asked the system.

A line of illusory text appeared: [Ultimate" means unparalleled. Your martial soul was already ultimate, so after this enhancement, it has surpassed its previous limits, thus still being called ultimate]

Fine, Shen An reluctantly accepted the system's explanation. After all, he could clearly feel the Nine-Leaf Sword Grass had grown stronger.

"Ahem, Shen An, put some clothes on," Dugu Bo coughed and handed him a set of clothes. Shen An realized that his clothes had been completely destroyed by the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Springs.

Blushing, Shen An quickly put on the clothes. Thankfully, there were no women around, or he would have been utterly embarrassed.

"Congratulations, Senior Dugu, on having your toxins cleared," Shen An said, noticing that Dugu Bo's previously green hair had turned black.

Dugu Bo laughed heartily, "Hahaha, I have you to thank for that, Shen An. I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. If you ever need anything in the future, just ask, and I won't refuse."

Dugu Bo made this promise with utmost seriousness.

Shen An smiled, "I'm just glad I could help, Senior. As for the debt, I've already taken two immortal herbs from your garden. Let's consider that as repayment."

Dugu Bo waved it off, "Those are just a couple of plants. I already said you could take whatever you like. You're really underestimating me, Dugu Bo."

At that moment, Tom and Jerry ran over, holding three more plants in their hands—the same ones Shen An had identified earlier, though their effects were still unknown.

"Tom, Jerry, what are you doing?"

The two little creatures held up the plants. Tom struck a pose, flexing his muscles like a cat lady, while Jerry gracefully placed his hand on Tom's, mimicking a noble princess dancing.

Shen An understood and asked, "You're saying that if Zhuqing and Rongrong eat these, they'll become stronger?"

"But what about the third one?"

Tom and Jerry buried their faces in the third plant, sniffing deeply and looking entranced. Shen An got the message—they really liked this one.

Embarrassed, Shen An asked, "Senior Dugu, could I exchange that favor for three more immortal herbs? These would really help my friends."

Dugu Bo, who had been worried about how to repay Shen An, was more than happy to oblige. A few plants he didn't even know the use of were a small price.

"Take them, take them! Even if you want to clear out my entire garden, I'd be more than happy!" Dugu Bo said magnanimously.

Shen An laughed, "A few herbs are enough. I'm not greedy, and I'd never do something as wicked as clearing out your garden."

Hearing this, Dugu Bo's opinion of Shen An improved even more. He liked young people who knew their limits and didn't overstep.

Shen An thought for a moment. Since the plants here were so effective, and he had already taken a few, why not ask Tom if there was something useful for Dugu Yan? It would be a nice gesture.

After all, Dugu Bo didn't seem to know much about the plants in his garden.

"Senior Dugu, could you release your martial soul?"

Though puzzled, Dugu Bo complied. The phantom of the Jade Phosphor Snake Emperor appeared, its imposing aura making even Shen An shudder.

Jerry, terrified, hid behind Tom. "Yikes, a snake! This little mouse doesn't want to die!"

Tom, though also trembling, bravely shielded Jerry.

"Tom, Jerry, don't be afraid. It's just a martial soul, not a real snake. I was wondering if you could find any plants that might help this martial soul."

Hearing Shen An's words, Tom and Jerry calmed down a bit, though their legs were still shaky.

Dugu Bo quickly retracted his martial soul, and the two little creatures returned to normal.

Soon, Tom found a small, snake-shaped green plant. Jerry sniffed it, shook his head, and picked a yellow, peculiar plant instead. He placed the two together.

Shen An smiled, "Senior Dugu, these two plants can be used by your granddaughter. Make sure she takes them together. I believe they'll be very helpful."

Having witnessed Tom and Jerry's abilities, Dugu Bo naturally believed him. He gave Shen An a deep look and carefully stored the two plants.

"Senior Dugu, shall we head back now? I'd like to find my friends."

"Sure!"

"By the way, Shen An, since you don't want to be my son-in-law, and I don't have a son, how about you take care of me in my old age? You can be Yan's godfather."

"Huh?!"

"I refuse!"
