Shen An's smile froze on his face. Oh no, this wasn't about him.
When Tom heard Gu Rong praising him, his little chest puffed up proudly, and he patted it loudly, as if to say, "That's right, it's me!"
Seeing Tom's expressions, which were no less vivid than a human's, Gu Rong couldn't help but marvel.
Even though he had heard Chen Xin rave about Tom, seeing it in person was still astonishing.
As for Shen An, Chen Xin had only mentioned him briefly—a young man with extraordinary talent.
Then, the atmosphere became awkward. Gu Rong was used to being the one receiving flattery, not the one giving it. After that initial compliment, he didn't know what else to say.
The tension was broken when a flash of sword light appeared. It was Chen Xin and Ning Rongrong.
The disciple standing nearby was utterly terrified. Just who was this young man, to have both Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo personally greet him?
"Shen An, we meet again. Standing at the gate isn't the way to treat a guest. Come in with us," Chen Xin said with a smile.
Ning Rongrong, however, was still fuming. "Shen An, if you don't give me a proper explanation for yesterday, I'll have Grandpa Bone beat you until you cry."
"Ahem, let's talk inside, let's talk inside," Shen An coughed lightly, looking embarrassed.
"Hmph!" Ning Rongrong snorted heavily.
Shen An, along with Tom and Jerry, followed Chen Xin into the main hall of the Seven Treasure Glazed Clan. Along the way, Ning Rongrong walked stiffly beside Shen An, her body tense.
She looked like she didn't want to talk to him but was secretly hoping he would explain himself.
Shen An had a pretty good temper and was especially patient with his friends. Seeing Ning Rongrong's pouty expression, he leaned in and whispered:
"Actually, I was taken away by Senior Dugu yesterday. He said he wanted to thank me for saving his granddaughter."
"Since Senior Dugu took me away so suddenly, I didn't have time to explain. But Tom, Jerry, and I brought you a gift."
Hearing Shen An's explanation, Ning Rongrong's mood instantly improved. When she heard about the gift, her earlier displeasure vanished completely.
Shen An thought to himself, Little girls are pretty easy to pacify.
Last time, Shen An had given her a small firecracker for self-defense. It wasn't exactly romantic—what kind of guy gives a girl firecrackers?
Ning Rongrong looked at Shen An expectantly. "What's the gift? Hurry up and show me."
"Now? Or should we wait a bit? It's something that will be useful to you. With Clan Leader Ning and the two seniors present, it should be safer."
Ning Rongrong pouted her pink lips. "Fine, fine. I'll look forward to it."
Up ahead, Gu Rong whispered to Chen Xin in a barely audible voice, "Isn't our little princess being a bit too special with this kid? Could it be...?"
Chen Xin replied, "Shen An is a good kid. We'll observe him more in the future. Rongrong will have to marry someone eventually."
Hearing this, Gu Rong fell silent. He glanced at Shen An with a strange look in his eyes. He had initially thought the kid looked decent, but now he seemed utterly detestable.
Darn it, Rongrong is the little cabbage I've watched grow up.
In the main hall of the Seven Treasure Glazed Clan, a refined middle-aged man was seated. When he saw Shen An, he stood up to greet him.
For the leader of one of the top three clans to personally stand and welcome someone was a sign of immense respect. This was both due to Chen Xin's praise of Shen An's unparalleled talent and his gratitude for Chen Xin's breakthrough.
"So, this is Shen An. Truly a remarkable young man. Sword Douluo has spoken highly of you. And this must be the extraordinary cat, Tom. Truly impressive," Ning Fengzhi said, his words as soothing as a spring breeze.
Just as Jerry was about to express his dissatisfaction, Ning Fengzhi added, "And this little mouse is also quite extraordinary."
Jerry instantly nodded in satisfaction. This guy knew how to talk.
As the leader of the clan, Ning Fengzhi possessed a keen mind. The fact that this little mouse could stand on the cat's shoulder meant it had a close relationship with Tom.
Considering Chen Xin's praise for Tom, Ning Fengzhi naturally wouldn't overlook Jerry.
"Junior Shen An greets Clan Leader Ning. This cat is named Tom, and the little mouse is Jerry. They're both part of my family," Shen An said respectfully, introducing Tom and Jerry.
"Hahaha, Shen An, you're a young prodigy, and even the companions by your side are so extraordinary. Today has truly been an eye-opener for me."
Ning Rongrong couldn't wait any longer. "Shen An, you promised me a gift. Why haven't you given it to me yet?"
When Ning Rongrong spoke up, Ning Fengzhi didn't scold her for being impolite. Instead, he looked at her with affection. Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo did the same.
As Ning Fengzhi's youngest and only daughter, Ning Rongrong was the apple of everyone's eye in the Seven Treasure Glazed Clan.
"Shen An, since Rongrong is so eager, why don't you present the gift now?" Ning Fengzhi said, though he didn't have high expectations for what Shen An would bring.
The Seven Treasure Glazed Clan was the wealthiest of the top three clans. What kind of treasure hadn't they seen before?
"Ahem, Tom, bring it out."
Upon hearing Shen An's words, Tom licked his lips and reached behind himself, rummaging around. A golden tulip was pulled out and quickly handed to Shen An.
Chen Xin and Gu Rong were both shocked. How had the flower just appeared out of thin air? Moreover, the speed at which Tom handed it to Shen An was so fast that even their Title Douluo eyes couldn't follow it.
Before they could ponder the mystery, a rich tulip fragrance filled the hall, refreshing everyone's spirits.
Ning Fengzhi's expression turned strange, while Sword Douluo and Bone Douluo's jaws tightened. Ning Rongrong, however, blushed furiously.
It turned out that what Tom handed to Shen An wasn't just a tulip. It was a large bouquet, surrounded by fresh roses, arranged in a romantic fashion by Tom.
Before Shen An could say anything, Ning Rongrong snatched the bouquet, muttering, "Oh my, what are you doing? How can I accept something like this?"
Shen An's mouth twitched. If you didn't want to accept it, why did you take it so quickly? I didn't even have time to react.
Oh well. Seeing how happy Ning Rongrong was, Shen An decided not to ruin her mood.
"Rongrong, inside this bouquet is an immortal herb called the Beautiful Silk Tulip. Consuming it should be beneficial to you."
Ning Rongrong looked at the golden tulip and hesitated. "It's so beautiful. Do I really have to eat it?"
It was a flower, after all. What girl didn't love flowers? Especially one given by Shen An. Rather than eating it, Ning Rongrong wanted to keep it forever.
"You can keep the other flowers, but this one is best consumed. Its value isn't in its appearance," Shen An explained.
"Fine. How do I consume it?" Ning Rongrong trusted Shen An completely.
Shen An gave Jerry a look. He didn't know how to consume it, but Jerry surely did.
Jerry immediately ran over from Tom's shoulder, seemingly stepping on air. He plucked the Beautiful Silk Tulip and pulled out a brand-new glass cup, grinding the flower into pollen.
Ning Rongrong watched as the flower was crushed, her heart aching.
Ning Fengzhi exchanged a glance with Chen Xin, who subtly moved closer to carefully sense the pollen. He detected a sense of elegance and nobility and an indescribable immortal aura, which put him at ease.
Although he knew Shen An wouldn't harm Ning Rongrong, it was better to be cautious.
After Ning Rongrong inhaled the pollen, her body began to glow with golden light. A noble and majestic aura surrounded her, making her look like a celestial maiden descending to earth.
The Seven Treasure Glazed Pagoda materialized above her, and before everyone's eyes, it added another layer!
Ning Fengzhi, who was usually composed, felt as if a tidal wave had crashed in his heart. His expression changed drastically, and he couldn't help but exclaim:
"This is...!"
