Dr. Cavalli's declaration echoed through the room like a shockwave, leaving everyone frozen in various expressions of astonishment. Alessandro, kneeling beside me, straightened slightly, his face hardened by an emotion difficult to define. Ezran, leaning against the wall, lowered his arms, his previously defiant posture stiffening.

I could feel the tension electrifying the atmosphere, each breath becoming an effort.

"Pregnant?" Alessandro's voice broke the silence, each syllable icy and precise. His eyes fixed on me, but quickly drifted toward Ezran, his gaze growing darker. "Explain. Now."

Ezran took a slight step back, though he didn't yield an inch to Alessandro's intimidation. "That's not something I have to explain to you, Valenti," he said with measured coldness. "This is between her and me."
