Chapter 100: The Poison in the Ranks

The silence in the room is suffocating.

Only the uneven sound of Lorenzo's breathing breaks the icy stillness around us.

Alessandro doesn't move. He still holds the blade to his prisoner's throat, his dark gaze locked onto Lorenzo's.

I hold my breath.

Lorenzo is playing a dangerous game, and he knows it.

But that smile…

That damn arrogant smile.

He knows something.

"You have two seconds to tell me what you're implying."

Alessandro's voice is a threat in itself—low and sharp.

Lorenzo lets out a weak chuckle, his eyes sliding toward me.

"You really want to hear this in front of your wife?"

Alessandro doesn't react.

His gaze doesn't flicker.

"You think I'll play your game?" he murmurs, pressing the blade harder against Lorenzo's skin.

A trickle of blood beads on Lorenzo's throat.

But he doesn't flinch.

He smiles.
