The Maturity Stage - Part Four

Chapter Two Ten: The Maturity Stage - Part Four

After my thoughts and emotions calmed down, I finally began to think clearly. I wondered what I had forgotten here—I didn't believe that my mother was unaware of his intentions.

Nor did I think she would agree to let my sister start a relationship with him.

Even more than that, starting a relationship itself wasn't considered shameful among spirit beasts. Given my rule of improvement and strength alone, since I could defeat him at 49,000 years old, they wouldn't even glance in his direction. So there had to be another reason.

However, considering my mother's and Aislin's intellect, along with my obsession with training, perhaps such a reaction from me was expected. It seems that my mother decided to help Aislin hint at me in a direct step—that I needed to act, or I might lose everything. Though they hardly expected me to return within a few months—this wasn't the time I was supposed to return—so one could say I interrupted their plan before it even began.

Of course, it's possible that this is all in my imagination and that they had no plan, but my revenge will be terrible. Naturally, after I "officially" declare that Aislin is mine and that I won't tolerate anyone near her, so to speak, in order to avoid any incidents, then I can properly arrange my revenge.

While I was lost in my thoughts about conspiracy theories and countermeasures, my mother and sister had already approached. However, when they noticed the firm determination in my eyes, my mother seemed satisfied. Well, this truly was my mother's plan—my little joy. My sister, on the other hand, was simply happy that I had gotten rid of the nuisance.

Aislin said, "Brother, you came back so quickly. You have no idea how much this… this… I don't even have the words to say it—how exhausting it was. Everywhere, he would drag me around and bother me, saying that we made a perfect pair. But even after defeating him in battle, I couldn't kill him. I couldn't stop him, and he followed me everywhere. Besides, when I manage to increase my strength quickly enough and become at least twice as strong as him, I will kill him."

After listening to Aislin, I glanced at my mother. If she had the patience to refrain from asking questions immediately and waited for me to speak first, the same could not be said for my sister. She immediately started asking questions, complaining, and boasting without pausing for even a second.

"Stop talking so fast. You're not even giving me a chance to answer, especially since I suddenly felt exhausted after the journey. And as soon as I arrived, I fought a very strong opponent, and you…"

Aislin said, "Brother, who are you trying to fool? You can fight for weeks without getting tired, and you killed that nuisance with almost no effort."

Yes, I forgot that my sister doesn't have a sense of tact. But just as I started thinking about what to say, my mother came to my rescue.

Selina said, "Aislin, stop bothering your brother. Give him some rest, especially since he will always have time to tell you about his adventures. You don't want him to run away from you."

Laughing, my mother silenced my sister. Since my sister loves chatting, she usually talks to me, but it's more like talking to a listener. However, after I left, she most likely didn't just go off to fight more with the ice spirit beasts but also to chat with them. But they couldn't bear it and ran away.

"Alright, let's go to the cave and talk there. More than that, even though I was gone for a short time, I saw a lot and missed you even more," I said calmly. After that, I hugged my sister with my wings, and my mother hugged me herself. The only thing was that she was twice my size.

Then, we headed to the cave near a lake in the center of my mother's territory. Only our family was allowed to go there, so no one would disturb us, and I could tell them everything at home.

Also, a funny thing happened with the hugging—spirit beasts don't have that habit. When I first hugged my sister and mother, they not only didn't understand why I was doing it but also received a tail strike to the side purely by reflex. It still hurt them. But over time, they got used to it, especially my sister, who loves sleeping under my wings, which could also be considered a hug.

After five minutes of flying, we reached our resting place, and I slowly began telling them what had happened to me and what I had seen.

To be honest, I don't have to explain much, as I had already gone with my mother and Aislin to the Ice Scorpion Clan. However, I still found myself telling them some small details, such as my encounter with the Snow Phoenix Empress or discussing some battles with the Ice Bear Clans or the Ice Giant Clans.

In any case, my mother is still adamant about not talking about my father.

However, I am certain that he is still alive.

Where is he? I don't know.

Even the Ice Empress never spoke of him or mentioned him at all, which made me suspect that there was a secret behind this matter.

Nevertheless, I received a hint from the Snow Phoenix Empress, who said that he had abandoned being a Spirit Beast.

To be honest, I don't fully understand what she meant by that, but I realized that he didn't die—he simply ceased to be a Spirit Beast.

Did he become a Magical Beast? Or did he turn into a human?

In any case, it is known that Spirit Beasts can become humans or Magical Beasts after successfully breaking through the hundred-thousand-year threshold.

Not only that, but if a Spirit Beast chooses to remain as one, it will still be able to transform into a human form—unlike Magical Beasts, which do not have this option, though they can still take on a human appearance.

Either way, this doesn't make a difference to them, as they are not threatened with extinction like Spirit Beasts, who are regularly hunted and killed by humans.
