The night turned into day faster than Riko wished. A few rounds passed between her and Ryan, and soon the first rays of sunlight were sneaking through the cracks in the window. But, curiously, instead of feeling tired, she was full of energy... and other things too.
After waking up, they went to a restaurant for breakfast. The atmosphere was calm, but the tranquility was soon interrupted when Kuroi arched an eyebrow upon seeing them arriving together. She exchanged suspicious glances between the two, soon starting to ask direct questions, but Riko naturally dodged them all.
Ryan realized that she didn't want to touch on the subject at that moment, so he just followed her rhythm, remaining nonchalant.
However, Gojo had no intention of letting them escape so easily. With a smug smile, he approached, tilting his head slightly as he left his provocation in the air:
"I think Ryan has already eat, Kuroi. Maybe he won't join us this morning..."
Ryan felt his eyebrow twitch slightly. That comment had been blatant even by Gojo's standards.
Kuroi, on the other hand, narrowed her eyes, even more suspicious.
"What do you mean by 'already eat', Satoru?" Her voice carried a dangerous suspicion.
Ryan sighed, ignoring Kuroi's sharp gaze and changing the subject before it turned into an awkward discussion.
"So… I need to go somewhere before we head to Jujutsu School."
Riko, who had been just listening until then, turned to him, her expression slightly worried.
"But... Are you going to be with me when..."
She couldn't finish the sentence. Ryan gently ran his hand through her hair, interrupting her with a touch that conveyed more than simple words.
"Of course I'll be with you, Riko." His voice was calm, but firm. "What I need to do won't take long."
He hesitated for a moment before completing, in a more uncertain tone:
"I mean… maybe it will take a little while. I have to convince Yuno to teleport me."
Gojo, who had already settled into a chair as if he were watching a show, leaned forward, curious.
"Can't you learn the teleportation technique?" He arched an eyebrow. "Your energy is practically identical to that girl's."
Ryan crossed his arms, letting out a sigh loaded with boredom.
"It's not quite how it works..."
Riko lightly squeezed his arm, her touch subtle, but full of expectation.
"Then, you better resolve this commitment as soon as possible..."
Ryan nodded, pulling his cell phone from his pocket.
"Yeah… you're right."
As he slid his finger down the screen to Yuno's contact, he muttered to himself:
"I hope she's still in 'cute mode'..."
Surprisingly, Yuno answered quickly. Her voice was willing, almost playful.
"Good morning, Ryan. Where do you want me to take you? Just so you know, I'm going to charge you a snack for this."
Ryan opened his mouth slightly for a moment, caught by surprise.
"How do you know that's why I called you?"
On the other end of the line, Yuno took a while to answer. When she finally did, her voice came in a funny and slightly provocative tone.
"Are you going to give me a present, idiot?"
Ryan closed his eyes, answering in a drawn-out way:
"No… I just want a ride."
Her answer came sulky, but with that hint of involuntary charm.
"Then don't be charming, idiot."
He chuckled softly.
"Okay… I'll send you a photo of the location."
He ended the call and, without wasting time, took a photo of himself making a peace sign. Gojo, of course, didn't miss the opportunity to appear in the background, raising his arms in an exaggeratedly fun way.
In a blink, Yuno appeared before him.
Ryan turned around and found her wearing her school uniform.
The white shirt, slightly fitted, highlighted her slender silhouette, while the purple tie hung softly over the impeccable fabric. The blue pleated skirt swayed subtly with each movement, revealing her well-shaped thighs. Her slender fingers touched his face almost innocently, and her smile carried that enigmatic glow of someone who always hides one or two secrets.
Ryan blinked, not filtering the words before they escaped.
"Damn... Have I ever told you that you look hot in that uniform?"
Yuno's smile vanished instantly.
She made a sulky face, crossing her arms.
"Humph. I didn't ask for your opinion, idiot."
But Ryan noticed the detail she was trying to hide. Her cheeks were slightly flushed.
Beside him, Riko crossed her arms, clearly uncomfortable with the compliment Ryan had given Yuno, but chose not to comment.
Yuno took a deep breath and decided to get straight to the point.
"Okay, where do you want to go? I have to go to school, unlike you. So don't waste my time."
Ryan scratched his head, answering in a bored way:
"Geez, you don't even need to worry about being late. You can appear sitting in your chair a second before the teacher anyway..."
While he was talking, Gojo decided to intrude in the background, as always.
"Good morning, pink hair! Good to see you too, you know!"
Yuno didn't even look at him. Her answer was dry, effortless.
"Hey, albino."
Gojo pursed his lips, narrowing his eyes. He turned to Geto, indignant.
"Wow… what a problematic woman, huh, man."
Geto let out a discreet chuckle, shrugging.
"I think she really didn't like you..."
Gojo rolled his eyes, but soon turned his gaze back to Ryan and Yuno, curious to see what all this would lead to.
Ryan slid his finger across the phone screen and showed the photo he had asked Mai for earlier. Without further ado, he held out the device to Yuno.
"Can you take me here?"
Yuno looked at the image and shrugged. "Sure."
But she didn't move. Instead, she stared at Ryan with an expectant expression, as if she were waiting for something. He arched an eyebrow, confused.
"Uh... Please?"
Yuno rolled her eyes before flicking him on the chest, making him recoil slightly.
"I don't want your idiotic politeness." Her voice carried a cute little frustration, a slight pout of discontent. "I said I want a snack, remember?"
Ryan blinked, and then it clicked.
"Ah! So that's it?" He pulled his wallet out of his pocket and held up his card to her. "Here, you can buy something on my card."
Yuno crossed her arms, tilting her head to the side with a sarcastic smile. "I'm already being nice by taking you here and there. Be decent at least once and buy it yourself."
Ryan sighed, accepting defeat. "Fine... What do you want?"
Yuno turned her back and walked to a nearby table, sitting down with an air of superiority.
"I'll wait sitting down."
Ryan squeezed his eyebrow with his fingers, feeling a slight throbbing in his forehead. "Damn it, she's playing the classic game! Is she on her period!?"
Before he could go buy something for her, he felt a timid tug on his sleeve. Riko, beside him, hesitated before murmuring:
"R-Ryan... I'm also a little hungry."
He froze for a second. And then, another flash of understanding came.
"Damn! She got jealous!"
Quickly regaining his composure, he turned to Riko and smiled gently.
"Okay, wait a little bit and I'll buy something for you, my dear."
He chose the right words. Riko smiled openly, her expression lighting up.
"Thank you!!"
Ryan scratched the back of his neck as he looked around. Despite being in a restaurant, he realized that maybe they wanted something different. So, he decided to go a step further and look for a more refined place, where he could impress them with something more elaborate. However, it wasn't long before he noticed two intruders approaching.
Gojo and Geto.
Ryan frowned upon seeing them following his walk. Without further ado, he spun on his heels and pointed an accusing finger at the two.
"I'm not paying for anything for guys, I'm telling you right now."
Gojo laughed and put an arm around Ryan's neck, pulling him close as if they were old comrades.
"You naughty boy, you're not satisfied with just Riko, are you?"
Geto, with his hands in his pockets, cast a suggestive look. "Satoru told me about what he saw yesterday..."
Ryan narrowed his eyes at Gojo. "Who else did you tell?"
Gojo raised his hands in a carefree gesture, adjusting his sunglasses with his fingertips.
"Relax... It was just for Geto. Man to man, you know?"
Ryan inhaled deeply before letting out a heavy sigh. "Yeah... I hope this stays just between us." His gaze was sharp.
Gojo patted him on the back, laughing. "Relax, it won't leave here!"
They continued to a sweet and savory shop that exuded a more sophisticated air. Ryan chose a well-prepared karaage for Yuno and an extremely tasty takoyaki for Riko. After the purchase, the three returned to the restaurant, where they found the girls sitting, waiting for them.
Ryan approached and handed over the snacks with a neutral expression.
"I hope you like it, because I'm not going back to exchange it."
Riko didn't waste time. She took a bite of the takoyaki and let out an adorable "Mmmm!", closing her eyes in pure satisfaction while resting one of her hands on her cheek.
"Wow! You got exactly what I was craving!"
Ryan closed his eyes for a moment, relieved as he thought. "Wow, thank goodness, because I wouldn't be able to abuse going back in time with Yuno here..."
Yuno, on the other hand, picked up her karaage and took a hesitant bite. She chewed slowly before murmuring:
"It's... edible..."
But her cheeks were slightly flushed.
Ryan noticed and smiled softly. "You can finish it calmly, it's still early, so I'm not in such a hurry..."
Yuno huffed lightly, averting her gaze. "Humph." But she continued eating, now with less hesitation.
A few minutes passed and, when she finished, Yuno stood up, stretching her arms.
"Okay, let's go."
Ryan looked at Riko and winked. "I'll be there when the time comes, so don't worry, okay?"
Riko blushed and smiled shyly. "Don't even think about being late!"
He put a hand on Yuno's shoulder, ready to leave. "Not a second late."
And, in the blink of an eye, both disappeared into the air, reappearing at the meeting point that Ryan had arranged with Mai.
Yuno crossed her arms, casting a judging look around before fixing it on Ryan, her expression loaded with judgment.
"Don't tell me you've already come after another woman, you idiot?"
Ryan sighed, taking his hand to the back of his neck with a resigned air.
"You call me idiot so much that I'm almost believing it..." He shook his head, gesturing slightly as he continued. "But, for your information, I did come to see a girl, yes. Only it's nothing like what you're thinking. She needs help, that's all."
Yuno arched an eyebrow, keeping her arms crossed as she tilted her head to the side, her tone loaded with sarcasm.
"And Ryan, altruistic as always. A true angel with a pure heart, doing good without expecting anything in return, right? What a beautiful thing to see."
Ryan narrowed his eyes, his face taking on a half-tired, half-annoyed expression.
"Look, you can judge me for what I used to be, but at least I'm trying to be decent in this life. The minimum, you know?"
Yuno kept her gaze fixed on him for a few seconds, as if trying to find some loophole in what he was saying.
"Is that so?"
Before Ryan could answer, she disappeared in an instant, leaving only a trace of her presence behind.
Ryan stood there, blinking a few times at the emptiness before letting out a dry laugh and muttering to himself, even knowing that she was no longer there to hear.
"Yeah, Yuno... The old Ryan was touched by the spirit of a peaceful life. As strange as that sounds."
He sighed, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. The surroundings were relatively calm — it was still early, and the mall where he was hadn't gained its usual hustle and bustle.
His gaze went to the clock, and he frowned slightly.
"What exactly does this woman want?"
Perhaps as an ironic answer from fate, as soon as the words left his mouth, he spotted her in the distance.
Mai was approaching... But in an unexpected way.
Ryan narrowed his eyes, tilting his head slightly.
"Why the hell... is she dressed as a bunny girl again?"
