RONALD'S POV
I glanced over at Emily severally during my discussion with Gerald. ‘What could Amy be discussing with Emily?’ I said internally.
The discussion with Gerald soon ended. As I approached Amy and Emily I could sense the tension in the air. Amy's smile seemed forced and her eyes flashed with anger. I locked eyes with her, my jaw clenched.
I slipped my hands round Emily's waist. “Emily, sorry I left you alone for a bit,” I said,my voice smooth. “Amy, what brings you here tonight?”
Amy's eyes never wavered but her eyes narrowed slightly, the other two spoiled brats she called friends stood by her side. “ Just enjoying the evening, Ronald,”
I raised an eyebrow, doubtful. I knew Amy too well. She was up to something.
I watched Amy smile, her eyes gleaming with a sweetness that didn't quite teach the soul. As she handed Emily her card, I intercepted, my hands closing Emily's, pulling her close.
