RONALD POV

I knew my schedule today and it was the reason for Leila's call. Leila's response was reassuring but my mind was a jumble mess, contemplating if I should go home to meet Emily or go on this business trip. My grip on the steering wheel tightened as I knew that I had a few hours left to catch my flight. The timing was so bad.

As I sped through the traffic, I couldn't take my eyes off the bus ahead as if my life depended on it. My only connection to Emily now is this bus and I felt so sad leaving her behind just when she needed me by her side the most.

Leila’s voice jolted me back to reality, her words reminding me of the responsibilities that I couldn't but do.

“Your flight has been booked, and it leaves in two hours" she said, in her professional tone but laced subtle irritation or was I mistaken?
