The preparation took nearly thirty minutes. The single, majestic staircase that once ascended before splitting into two sweeping, curved staircases was now adorned with golden silk drapes intertwined with fresh white roses and lush greenery.

The marble floor they had stepped on was decorated with subtle strands of pearlescent fairy lights, and large, ornate flower arrangements in towering gold vases flanked the entrance. These were filled with lilies, orchids, and peonies.

Soft classical music drifted through the air, played live by a string quartet positioned at the base of the staircase.

The maids were dressed impeccably in black-and-white formal uniforms, carrying silver trays laden with champagne and hors d'oeuvres for the arriving guests.
